Hey I was thinking of making a guide for Sona, but I haven't seen anything like it. I was wondering if you would be able to have a discussion about it as I'm not very high elo?

Ah Yes sorry I've been really busy with University!
I usually buy the utility items because I feel that they are a lot stronger now!
The defensive Items are only for if you and your adc are getting blown up by an auto attacker buy the frozen heart<--- this isn't that great of an item right now. Iceborn gauntlet is really good against all ad teams but i usually go lich bane if i buy a sheen item.

Ideal back means if you have enough money for the sightstone and the frostfang get both!! and a control ward!
although this is situational because if i get early kills and the adc and I are really bullying lane I buy an early sheen instead.

Slightly off topic: How do you uses control wards? I neve know where to put them...

Yes it is very important to use control wards! Always buy at least one if you can afford it watching high elos they buy two or three. . . They are useful for long term vision in lane(only if you can defend them). Denying dragon/baron vision and setting up dominance in their jungle, sneaking wards early game helps. You can use them to cheese people as well.

So where do you put them in lane? In a brush, I guess, but which one? And how do you defend them? You're not going to stay there all the time just to defend them...

Hey, thank you for your previous answers. I have some more questions, so I open a new mini thread:

The notes for the first back items say "ideal back if you can afford it". Can you explain this sentence? Maybe there's a typo?
The notes about the deffensive items say "banner gives you global map pressure". I guess you're talking about Banner of Command here. You do recommend Banner of Command in the Items section, but you don't include it in the item build. Is that a mistake? If so, where in the item build would you put it?

Thanks for looking at my guide I sill need to take the time to clean it up and continue to theory craft items. The banner in that tip does refer to the banner of command. I the reason it's not included in the build is because right now I feel that banner isn't an item sona should build anymore because it no longer gives ability power and cdr. The Locket which builds from the same aegis component has a lot of utility and large shield that can win teamfights and keep vital members of the team alive

Also, when should I buy the defensive options and the utility choices in the item build? I see similar groups in the item builds of other guides, but I never know their purpose.

I have some questions about the guide:

Why do you have Total Biscuit of Rejuvenation in the first group of items and Health Potion in the second? If I'm not mistaken, if you have the biscuits you can't have the potions.
Ionian Boots of Lucidity - Distortion and vision wards no longer exist.
What's the meaning of these sentences: "Redemption is broken right now" and "Have Stacked before big fights"?
What is the "auto attack reset"?

I still like ionan boots because of the flash cool down but recently I've been experimenting with sourcers shoes

What about Redemption?

I usually get redemption third or fourth item after lich bane. . . if they have a lot of burst damage get a locket instead. . .

1) Consider AP glyphs instead of MR, esp. on your aggro build.
2) Your Core wants Redemption but it's missing from Final Build...?!
3) You need some health to avoid being killed in one rotation (Redemption isn't quite enough minimum).
4) Frozen Heart is much more helpful to your team than Randuin's.
5) Guardian Angel is misplaced on Sona. Your team will be dead by the time you live again, and you are useless on your own.
6) Consider Rylai's, it is perfect for Sona in all regards.
7) Try to nail your CDR cap. Don't waste % by going over, as it is inefficient.
8) Braum is quite easy. Just kite him and avoid allins. Poke him down. Even his Winter's Bite is mana inefficient. Care his ult a bit. Ward.

Thanks so much for the help I'll Continue to edit this guide!!! I haven't played Aggro Sona in a while because of the buffs to the healing items and masteries, but I should experiment with it more and maybe do a fun build with rapid fire cannon! Will make fixes and take your suggestions. Rylais is a bit to expensive imo but it will be cheaper with the next patch so it might be good to build, I should try to not go over cdr cap but they but CDR on so many items now a days

First offOtherwise, I like your build because it's almost identical to mine! Don't take my opinion the wrong way.

It's not worth going 20% over the 40% CDR Cap IMO. I'd rather sacrifice lucidity boots over athenes, because athenes, is WAYYYYY too good to give up.
The only other thing is that Locket is a bit weak right now.
