Hello and welcome to the MOBAFire Patch Summary - 7.12!

This patch includes buffs for some under-performing champions and nerfs to dominant ones. There are also a ton of item changes in this patch, targeted largely at support itemization. Check out the details below!

The Hunt of the Blood Moon looms into rotation from June 16, 12:00 PT - June 27, 04:00 PT. Sacrifice Spirits, Demon Heralds, and enemy champions to gain points and the Demon Brand buff, which turns you invisible to hunt down your enemies.

Rumble received the most extensive changes this patch, with a lot of numbers tweaks to his passive and basic abilities. The goal of these changes is to provide Rumble's opponents with clear windows to pick fights against him during the laning phase. Flamespitter has a much longer cooldown at early ranks (10 seconds instead of 6) and Scrap Shield's duration is down from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds. In return for these longer windows of weakness, Rumble was compensated with some higher numbers on his basic abilities.

All three reworked champions from last patch are receiving more changes. Rek'Sai and Kindred are both receiving buffs to their base stats as well as usability improvements to Wolf's Frenzy and Void Rush. Rek'Sai's, Unburrow also had its bonus AD ratio doubled from 0.4 to 0.8, which will reward her more for building damage items. Meanwhile, Malzahar has been dominating the mid lane, so he's getting some damage trimmed off of Call of the Void and Nether Grasp. On the plus side, Riot's fixed a bug where Quicksilver Sash was completely cancelling the damage of Nether Grasp, rather than just removing the suppression.

Several of the currently dominant champions were hit with nerfs this patch, especially those who can make use of support items. Ivern lost up to 50 damage on Triggerseed while Karma's Inspire had its shield value lowered for both its standard and Mantra'd forms. Xayah and Zac also received cuts to their damage output and Xayah can no longer basic attack during the cast time of Double Daggers.

We'll end off with some buffs. Camille's Adaptive Defenses have a lowered cooldown early and her second cast of Precision Protocol deals a little more damage. Corki received increases to his base AD and attack speed and his Hextech Munitions was changed from 50/50 to 20/80, so his auto-attacks will now deal mostly magic damage. Phosphorus Bomb and Missile Barrage can also now be buffered during Valkyrie's cast time. Jhin also received some small damage buffs to Dancing Grenade and Curtain Call. Finally, Jax's Empower now grants him 50 bonus attack range to help his combat pattern feel a bit more fluid.

Mana Regen: +75% base ⇒ +100% base
Cooldown Reduction: 20 ⇒ 10
Blood Charges Rate: 20% ⇒ 25% of premitigation damage to champions
New Passive: Dissonance: Grants 5 AP for every +25% base mana regen
Removed Passive: Harmony: No longer grants +25% base health regen for every +25% base mana regen.
Recipe: Crystalline Bracer + Chain Vest + 850 gold ⇒ Kindlegem + Chain Vest + 700 gold
Cooldown Reduction added: +10%
Health regen removed: No longer grants +100% base health regen
Recipe: Catalyst of Aeons + Crystalline Bracer + 750 gold ⇒ Glacial Shroud + Crystalline Bracer + 950 gold
Stats: 500 ⇒ 400 health; 30 armor and 10% CDR added
Eternity passive (from Catalyst of Aeons removed.
Slow nova now triggers upon nearing an enemy champion and cannot be manually triggered early.

Other Changes

  • Chat & Friends:

    • A "More Unread" bar will appear if you've got unread messages higher up or further down your friends list. Click the bar to automatically scroll to the message notification. This setting can be toggled off via the "Chat & Friends" tab of the Settings menu.

    • Chat history once again generates date lines when spanning across multiple days. This setting can be toggled off via the Settings cog in the chat window. (Note: Toggling date lines off for one conversation will toggle 'em off for all conversations!)

  • Summoner Level Progression:

    • We’ve made some minor adjustments to the 1-30 experience curve so players level at a smoother rate, rather than spiking at levels 5, 10, and 20. Total 1-30 experience requirements are very slightly lower.

  • Notable Bugfixes:



Upcoming Event + Skins


VS. begins during this patch. A world on the brink of ruin waits to be redeemed through Chaos or Order. Delve into a monumental legend and affect its conclusion by taking on event-exclusive missions. Completing missions grants tokens that help determine a victor, and you can also forge tokens into event-only loot.

Intewesting,

Is the change to Corki enough to make Void Staff his penetration item of choice? I'm not the best Corki player around, but as ADC I find his mana costs to be prohibitive. But Riot's use case (all AD team) is what I use him for so more magic damage on his autos es good. Of course a bunch of champions that didn't have MR/lvl scaling now have it...

?Happy? to see some Zac nerfs so maybe he won't be permabanned. It will slow his clear down and likely leave him a little less healthy on early clears. But I think that they've given him too much useful CC so thinking this only slightly drops his winrate.

Curious change on Jax. I've seen a request on reddit for him getting the Lee Sin treatment to smooth out ward hopping with Leap Strike but Riot gives him 50 range on Empowered autoattacks...He already had over a 50% winrate in the jungle so I'm guessing this is primarily aimed at lane Jax.

Void Staff has always been Corki's pen item ever since his autos got changed to half phys half magic IIRC
