I need some advice about support

Hi I'm decided to play support role a lot due to the fact my team nerver seam to have one.I played Zilean at first but since his laning face is quite weak I 'm currently play Karma for stronger laning poke and Lulu for better peeling for my Adc.I'm also practicing Zyra if my team need some to start the combat but if my team doesn't have tank what so ever in that case is playing a tank sp is a must? And if there is any match up I lacked or missed please tell. Thanks so much for any feed back

Support is a role that depends on both ally and enemy team comps, so i would suggest taking that into consideration.

Hi, I am brazillian and I play support. If you want some starter support, you should try Thresh or Morgana. Thresh is a good starter because he is tank, so hook someone up to start. As Morgana you can flash to the enemy team's direction, then ult + zhonya's. I hope I helped you.

Not so hard, just use the hook (Q) and the flay (E) to the ally direction, then the enemy adc will be trhown to your side, then he will need to tank your minions damage, and that helps a lot your adc to kill the enemy, because the marksmen are squishy and the minions are a big problem for them. If your adc dives, throw your lantern (W) for him, then he can scape. Your ultimate (the box) can be used to flee or to a fight. If theres an angry Warwick pursuiting you, just ult on him.

About the lane phase, if you have a strong early game like Caitlyn, you may get some utility, because Caitlyn will easily hit the enemy from the backline, and you will need to keep her away from the enemy. If you have some weak early game ADC you should get a strong support to help your ADC deal damage. If your ADC doesn't have a way to flee from ganks, try a tank (but, if the top and the jungle are tanks, try to avoid a tank support!)

playing support you need to know
    1. are you good at using skill shoots?
yes so play something like thresh / Blitz / nami / brand (remember if you miss all your skill shoot you are pretty unless)
no then play something like Annie /Janna / taric
    2. did you have fun playing that champ?
if not just don't play him you will do a bad performance.
    3. what you team needs?
    did you team need CC,Tank,sustain?
are you playing vs CC,poke, all in etc

playing vs all in use poke
    playing vs poke use sustain
playing vs sustain use all in

lot of text i know lool an my English are so bad yeah but i hope something here was useful for you.

p.s never play something you don't know to play even if you team ask you for it

Ehhhh.... If you are just getting into support then I would recommend either an AP carry support with a poke lane (Annie, Lux, etc.), a Tank / high engage like Nautilus, Leona, etc. or Blitz.

Generally you want to avoid powerful early game supports when you are allied with a poke or someody with weak early game- I.E. Ezreal.

Hi, I Started playing support because i have the same problem like you,I try many support champ, zylean to taric up to braum and bard but im having a hard time playing them cause some of them mainly for tanking and the others for heal, so i try to improvice and play Rakan. it is fun to play and quite interesting because of the mixed skill with heal, shield and being the initiator with his SS and knock up, using relic shield for first item and Solaris for first build. it convenient when your in team fight. i try building redemption at first but, my team always spreading around so they cant go near me nor where i activate the redemption because their too focus on their opponent so i try building Solaris at first and being the initiator, using RAKANs SS to gather them around in one place and use knock up. (oh faj, sorry cant help it when im talking about my main, and sorry for the grammar.I know it sucks, not native english speaker so), deal with it XD

I like Rakan and he's very mobile champion just he doesn't fit my style but if my team adc choose Xayah most of the time I'll pick Rakan

It's probably a good idea to learn how to play a tank support since your team might need a tank sometime, though Lulu is almost always a good pick so it's great that you've picked her up.

Thresh is a good choice because he's just a really strong support, always has been, and he isn't a typical tank because he's ranged (and can poke) and does quite a bit of damage. He's not that hard to play though so don't let what other people say discourage you. But even if he was hard to play you'd learn him eventually if you practice enough, and he's worth learning imo.

A more classical tank would be Leona or Braum, and I recommend both of them since they're simple but strong (especially Braum) and I think they're good in this patch.

Being a tanky support has the advantage that you can easily engage a fight.
lets take Braum as an example, braum is decent in engage but has a powerfull defense and can also support his adc to the fullest. so if you manage to engage you can tank while you protect your carries which makes you win the fight.
    Goodluck summoner.

They generally don't have a way to flee, so always have an eye on the enemy jungler.
