Greetings Mobafire,

I've recently have written a Cho'gath guide and it takes a LOT longer to load then any other guide I've opened, guides with more input, such as pictures and youtube footage. So I do not know where this comes from.

If you like I can copy paste my original text in a comment below.

My guide:http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/chogath-way-to-go-pro-bruiser-tank-revamped-solo-top-167234

Looking forward for your reply

Kind regards,

Drasq

Probably because you have additional functions on your guide while you don't have on others and so when you open your guide more stuff needs to be loaded.

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

It's not all the time, but occasional. Any chance that it's because I've been editing/publishing too much today? (over 20x, if not more)

I don't even think my answer is right anyway. But no, I don't think its because of you editing so much.

Try using Chrome. It's a fast browser, and I found it loaded my guides much faster than Firefox.

Spoiler tags would also make it faster to load long guides *hint hint nudge nudge wink wink*

jhoijhoi, spoiler tags probably won't make much of a difference in terms of load time ;) But they are coming anyways.

Drasq your guide seemed to load fine for me. Note that, if your guide hasn't been visited for several hours its cache may expire. That means if you are the first person to visit it again, the cache is rebuilt and you have to wait for it to finish. The longer and more complex your guide text is, the longer it may take to rebuild the cache

We're currently working on some upgrades to make this significantly less taxing on the servers, which will in turn make it significantly faster for readers. One of the components of the upgrade, among others, is that I will be permanently caching your compiled bbcode so even if your main cache expires, it still doesn't have to recompile the bbcode.

Also I noticed you have two builds. This also adds to the build time for your cache. There is a lot of data that has to be loaded and organized for each build.

Matt, so if large amounts of text and images were "spoilered", wouldn't that mean the page doesn't load them until requested to (when one opens the spoiler box)?

Because at other forums, spoiler tags were used to hide a lot of text or large images so people with limited download wouldn't be "wasting" their bandwidth on images they may care nothing about.

@Matt

That explains it, recompiling takes quite some time, depending on the complexity of the code.

It has been loading just fine the last few times I checked.
Anyhow, thanks for the quick responses everyone. +rep for you all ;)!

Regards,

Drasq
