I wasn't trying to write a formal essay, I was trying to make it light and somewhat easy to read. At least for any of my friends who read it, they found it amusing, but I'm sorry you had a problem with it.

For item linking, I linked some items, but I feel that linking every single mention of a single item is not needed. That's just me. And I'm partially colorblind, so I don't really care too much about putting colors in my guide =P

My item build is just how I chose to play her. Nothing wrong with going for a GP style build. Maxing Hiten just isn't how I play her, so why would I make my items revolve around it?
I don't believe that anyone can say for sure what ability leveling sequence is best, and how I chose to play her doesn't make my guide wrong. It's just different than what you are used to.

Speaking of, I read your guide. All the way through. I found it quite funny that you criticize my grammar when you have MANY spelling and grammar mistakes. Even the sentence you criticize my grammar in is not correct.
I'm not saying it hurts your guide, I just don't feel that you saying mine is bad is a fair thing.

And your build itself is fine, but nothing about it is different than 90% of the builds on MOBA. Including the top build. The only difference between yours and the top one is that yours is still full of typos, incomplete and not as in depth. None the less, still a good guide, though I don't agree with the play style and build order.

also, one of the first things in my guide is a reference to jhoijhoi's guide... So, while I don't just cookie cutter hers, it doesn't mean I didn't use it.

Overall, it's fine if you don't like my guide. It's not the same build as everyone else's, but I don't claim that it is totally unique. Its just how I like to play her.

Hmm.... I downvoted for now, but if you change things that are really not cool here, or provide me some really nice explanation ill upvote.
So lets see whats wrong with this guide :

• Grammar. You're writing very wierd and thus being hard to read.
• Use coding. I've seen many champs/items/spells unlinked.. not to mention none has colour.
• ITEM SEQUANCE. Wth man, how can you build atmog + trinity+veil+ie? That turns you into gp-style shlt. Irelia NEEDS AS, and she eneds it badly. Check out my guide to see explanations and stuff.(coding inclozuded)
• Ability sequance.. Kiddin me? Hiten Style maxed last? i used to max ES first also, but belive me W is much better. +Buy an wriggles lantern in start .. it gives u 50 sustain/hit.
• General formatting, see jhoijhoi's guide about making a guide.

Provide me some explanation and ill give you +rep, and maybe up vote. Also check out my guide.. give upvote if u think its good.

You are correct in many ways. Yes, Randuins is similar to exhaust. But its everyone around you, making it in many ways better. However, when I say I find it hard to use Randuins, thats just a personal flaw I have. I hardly remember to use on active items, and shy away from them. However, Exhaust can also be used to stop more than just an AD carry. It can severely slow down the damage of many AP casters and such.
Thats just why I dont use it.

And you are correct, I do not play ranked often at all. I tend to play with my friends usually, and we dont try to play to the meta all of the time. We play for fun, and usually just random instant lock champions.

The defensive items are only there for offence essentially. You can go glass cannon Irelia just fine, or you can go tank. I just prefer the middle ground, having some defense items that add to your offence. I am not trying to tank, I am just trying to put out constant damage and stay alive a bit longer.

I dont know why, but I never mentioned hexdrinker or wits end. Both are quite good items. I will update that.

As for the Tenacity+Mercs, if what you say is true, and it more than likely is, than it would make other boots viable in my opinion against a light cc team. But if there are more than 2 stuns and slows, I would still go Merc.

It was interesting to read your guide and I defintely picked up an idea or two but there are to many flaws as I see for me to use it. Maybe an update could fix some of these.

First, why no Randuins? You pick Exhaust but neglect Randuins which is like an Exhaust AOE vs auto-attackers. Plus it has a 60 sec cooldown rather than 210 sec. I find it hard to use Randuins - Randuins require 1 keystroke rather than keystroke + targeted mouse click. Q into teamfihgts, then "1" (or whichever item slot) and see the whole team go slooooooooooooow.

Every team should have a Randuins and a Shuriyas - here you get both starting items but complete none. This makes me believe you play mostly normal solo queue rather than ranked solo/duo and ranked teams. How do you compose your team with an this Irelia as solo top? What role do you try to fulfill?

I also lack a valid discussions on the defensive items. Both just seem to be there to make more damage. Not saying that you shouldn't buy BV in some games but you reasoning between FoN and BV is just not strong enough, neither do you mention other valid alternatives for MR.

And finally a correction: Tenacity from Mercs + Ionian Fervor (passive) do not stack additively but multiplicatively resulting in a 61% reduction and not 75%. That's one reason for me to not getting Mercs if I don't see a very heavy CC team. You get 14 pp (percentage points) less CC than other champs buying Mercs (for the same price) and you already have good tenacity.

Personally, I believe that Shielding is better than Warding due to most casters you would be going against having a combo of sorts required to do damage. Thats just the way Riot makes casters. Thus, the first few levels they wont be quite as strong, and I feel the immediate MR is not needed. But that's just my opinion. Both work very well, and I feel like Glyphs have to be a MR of some type.
