The Ubuntu 12.04LTS apparently has a big twist for it's UI.
It moves away from menus and typical graphical UI elements in favor of a "search system". You can simply search for whatever it is that you would like to do and it presents a list of what you can do.
Just watch the video for an example.

It looks promising, as long as they don't overdo it. I would still like most of my menus to remain.

Note: I also really like how the version 11 and above handles full screen and the taskbar. Sure, I don't like not having text in my taskbar, but having it on the side gives you more room in the OS overall since most screens nowadays are widescreen. When you press the "full screen" button on windows they maximize and merge with the top bar. I like that, it's really cool.

I think most of the menus remain. I mean, when he's searching it shows the menu it is in. For example, when he was in that designer program and searched "shadows" what came up was
Filters > Shadows and Glows > Inner Glow
so I'm pretty sure that it's just a menu search feature and the menus remain. Maybe what shows up are folders though..

lol da f. I already do that anyway. I am da hotkeys/search masta. I use no menus. What I've wanted to try recently is Arch, though. The distro looks intense.

@Can
Yea, it would seem that way. I like how it works.

@ShoPAN
What're you using? O.o
Cuz windows doesn't allow that.

I took a look at arch, but then I realized how incredibly complicated it is and how much time I would have to spend on it just to get it working. Noo~o thank you.

I think he's implying he does it manually.

"I also am Otherkin. Whenever autumn rolls around I can feel my kin-type slowly taking over my body. You must know, I identify as pumpkin. I can control it pretty good most of the time, but when September ends, I just cant hold it in anymore. Whenever Im outside I see my brothers and sisters being chopped into soup, coffee, donuts, cake, drinks, bread - ppl even cut human faces into their skin, making a mockery out of their noble appearance. When I see things like that I cant control my pumpkin urges anymore. My natural instincts kick in. I then sit down motionless, while getting bright orange." - Morgana L

^ HOLY **** I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT WEBSITE BEFORE, BUT IT'S BRILLIANT.

and about da hawtkeys:
http://www.autohotkey.com/

Actually I don't use search for menus haha. So forget I said that.

But I also have some shtuffs set up from my command prompt, and I usually customize my hotkeys on my programs so I can just use what I want. But it gets kinda hard for someone that's not me to use my computer sometimes LOL. tbh, it's easier to do this kinda **** on mac and linux, imo.

Yea, I believe Linux and mac both have it built in.
Cool program btw. I might use it myself.

Mac has search built in pretty well. Not hotkeys. But that's an easy fix with 3rd-party.
Linux... well... as with everything else, it depends on the distro.

But I'm sure all the distros can get things like that easily from an app central if it's not included.
