I still like to consider myself pretty novice at the game , although ive picked up a nice game sense i still seem to be failing at ranked games i was playing with a friend last night and he was varus and i was singed together we got a 9 win streak so when he was out i went into ranked with singed and everything was going ok got a few nice assists early on , then it all went to **** and we lost the game. I think im something stupid like 1-12 in ranked at the moment. I've won around 230 normal games , do i just need to keep going in my normal games to get more experience or something? I really cant stand some of the people who play ranked though so full of themselves and uptight and what ever i seem to say or do is apparently wrong :S.

I think for the first time yesterday the game just sickened me , i actually went to bed early rather than carry on till the early hours.

Im here for advice pure and simple , any advice no matter how small or big would be appreciated a lot!

Thanks for reading.

If you want anymore information about other champs i can play just ask.

My suggestion is don't go ranked yet. You don't know the game enough to carry the ones that know the game less than you (no matter their games). I went into ranked too early, and I am 400+ wins and still I'm not good enough to carry all my games.

Solo queue ranked is all about carrying, carrying hard, and avoiding mistakes.

Play normals, normals draft (if u want the more "ranked-feeling") and learn learn learn. Play max 10 different champions and learn them superwell! =)
If you for some reason want to follow my ranked journey to gold, you can do it Here.

I am against asking for rep, only rep me if you think I contributed well or said something wise.

I'd recommend just playing with your friends, or even a team you could put together.

Solo queue can be very tiresome, so if you're online alone, I'd say just play normal draft.

If you still want to solo q, a good way to avoid rage is to do exactly as everyone tells you, even if you don't feel it's right. If you do something right, but your team refuses to follow up on it, it probably isn't going to work anyway, so essentially it's the same thing as listening to a bad decision by your team, except with the latter, you're team will at least not rage at you.

Also, probably a better way, is to take the lead on your team, and get them to work with you, and follow orders.

Another thing is you shouldn't always play singed. Your choice of champion should be picked based on your lane opponent, otherwise you're likely to get counterpicked, and lose.

The problem with normal draft is that if you solo queue you end up getting 4th or 5th pick in every game because premades get priority. So you're almost always forced to play jungle/support or whatever role didn't get picked and it can become very annoying if you never get the role you're looking to practice. They were supposed to fix that in this patch, but it got delayed. >.>

Also, whilst it's a good idea to know how to play everything, focusing entiely on one role or even one champion is actually very powerful. There's a guy at 2.3k+ on NA who plays only Singed.

Focus on one role, one lane, and get to know it pretty much inside and out. If you can focus on 2 - 3 characters who cover each others counters even better. Learn how to play at least 1, preferably 2, characters decently in all the other roles just in case someone takes yours.

Look up guides, not just here on Mobafire, on laning theories, strategies etc. Some of the most basic concepts on the outside are some of the hardest to master.

Play Normal draft if you seriously want to get better for ranked. Blind pick gives no option for counter picks, and you can't get a normal team comp 98% of the time.

This may sound odd, but go into custom games and type is ARAB (all random all bot) into the filter. Surprisingly, this method will probably let you learn how to build your champion that gets selected, how to build for certain situations, and learn how to teamfight really well. Yes, you don't get to choose your champion, but it still is a good way to gain experience on how to teamfight, such as who to focus and how to communicate with your team.

Try to learn the counters for your champions inside and out, how to deal with them, how to counterjungle, what characters scale well, which ones don't, how to counter people in other lanes early on so that they don't snowball as hard etc. That may seem like a lot of work, but it isn't honestly.

Now, I'm not a 1400 ELO player, and maybe will never go as high as 1500, but I started playing ranked at around 280 normal wins (probably 50 of them being dominion). You can start early, and fall down deeper and deeper in ELO "Hell" and struggle your way back up. That doesn't mean starting early is bad, in fact, I am glad I started early, as it forced me to learn the game to be able to struggle back upwards.

My last tip. 60% of the people at 1000- ELO to 1200, are really not that great. Most don't really know advanced mechanics of the game, for example. Caitlyn bot lane ends the game at 30 minutes with 40 CS, and she had auto attacked the whole time and pushed the lane. Let me tell you, that was a hell of a hard game for me to play support as.

I'm sure you can find more guides and such, but here are a few links to get you started. I know that they don't cover top lane, and most certainly don't cover Singed, but they are a good read, and you will have to know this stuff eventually.

I'd say to play more classic before you start playing ranked. I got to around 500 wins before I even started doing ranked because you need to know what to buy, when to get buffs, and team formation perfectly before you can play ranked. The reason people get so mad when noobs play ranked is because that is the only place to get a real, good, competitive game going, and one noob can screw it up for their whole team. Some people get a little carried away with the trash talking, but trolling/noobing seems to be affecting the ranked matches a HUGE amount.. So ya just practice, GL and HF :)

I'm not "Very Powerful" but I'm waiting on Own3d to update the new Stream I just signed up for - Teemo's House - 24/7 Teemo fun, where I try to fill any role the team needs. It'll be a low-elo stream at the moment, but that could change.

I dunno, the singed comment made me feel like saying something :)

This.
In normals you rarly get above 3 pick. There a Tons of premades so you are stuck in the lower picks. Another big factor is that 90% of the people want to play either top or mid.
Thanks lgnition for the Sig.

What DjHalfBaked said. It is impossible to get enough experience, IP and general feel of the game under 400 normal games played. It is just so connected. It's like with build orders in SCII - they will lead you nowhere if you haven't build your own playstyle, which doesn't necessarely means it has to be original, it just means you have to get enough your own points of reference; and since you need to farm IP for runes in LOL there is even more to play if you want to test things out by yourself.

Just stick to the basics and play more normal/draft games:

1.farm effectively
2.get map awerness and map positioning reaction
3.know how and when to ward
4.keep up with timers on important neutral spawns
5.know your role in teamfights and how to move with the team
6.learn when to push and/or towerdive

Watching full matches by pro playaz with commentary is good too - you can get how the flow of the game should look like and learn few tricks they use.

dont go ranked until you think you are really good enough. id say 230 won normal games isn't enough.
