Looks cool :o
Costs 70$ (30$ less than Kinec, lol) and is released in February 2013.

the "track" distance is rather limited, so it wouldn't really work for consoles.

BUT IF YOU SET UP 2 OF THEM

(that could seriously work, lol. If they make the software support it)

Or they could just make one with increased range.

That's exactly the problem... the tech they're showing only works so well, because they track stuff at a very short distance in a very limited area.

Imagine the same tracking on the WHOLE body at least 2m away from the tracking device.
Lags and/or slow as **** overall.

If you want the same thing on the area Kinect supports, you'll waste one hell of money.

The main thing about motion control for me is that it HAS to be exact. Otherwise gaming will be a pain in the arse at times. Kinect is rubbish in that respect, and Wii isn't quite good either.

Even though this Leap Motion has it's limitations, it's very precise and that's a requirement for implementing it into games.

"I also am Otherkin. Whenever autumn rolls around I can feel my kin-type slowly taking over my body. You must know, I identify as pumpkin. I can control it pretty good most of the time, but when September ends, I just cant hold it in anymore. Whenever Im outside I see my brothers and sisters being chopped into soup, coffee, donuts, cake, drinks, bread - ppl even cut human faces into their skin, making a mockery out of their noble appearance. When I see things like that I cant control my pumpkin urges anymore. My natural instincts kick in. I then sit down motionless, while getting bright orange." - Morgana L

Yeah, but the other requirement (range/area) isnt given unless you reduce that precision...

I don't think It'll ever be used for gaming, at most it'll be used as an improved touchpad.

Not really, but it'll require more processing power and potentially more expensive sensors.
Honestly, precision is way more important than range/area..

I disagree. This has much more precision than you need for console games. Why the hell do you want to track the finger movements? This is completely useless for gaming.
