Welp, I've reached a point of boredom with LoL at the moment. I'm really looking to take a champ I don't play at all - and is RARELY seen (maybe not like karma-rare, but rare), and play them exclusively for a little while.

A major plus would be versatility as far as roles go. I was thinking of focusing on Fiddlesticks, and I could run him mid/jungle and even unorthodox support. Does anyone have much experience playing Fiddles? How is he in terms of viability?

And then if you wanted to recommend any other champs that would make for a good time to try to play exclusively, and ideally could fill more than one role (but if you really have a strong opinion on a one-role champ, lemme know that too!) I would love to hear them.

Thanks so much in advance!

Fiddle is a good laner against a nice deal of champs, but quite susceptible to ganks. Early, he forces you to choose between ganking or laning, since he doesn't push that well (apart from E). He suffers a bit of mana issues, nothing you can't fix with a couple Doran's/blue buff/catalyst of the protector.

As a support, some people are dumb and can't follow your leads. Squishy. But works well once you get some practice in.

Play Karma. She works as a top, mid, and somewhat as a support. She can even jungle.

Viktor, Xerath, Ziggs, Sejuani and Poppy.

I don't see Nautilus that much anymore either.

Yeah, Naut's about 5% in ranked. Looked it up a moment ago. Sad, because he's a CC monster.

The thing is he's quite slow (both in early clear and movement) and item-dependent.

I just don't know why Xerath is such a rare pick, though. He seems to work decently.
+Rep pls if I helped! One click doesn't hurt :D Check out my first guide featuring Darius (NEED MOAR VOTEZ)!

Xerath is awesome he's just hard to appreciate half the time because he's 500 feet away from his team.

Viktor will totally make a comeback with his remakes. :3

I agree with above poster, Xerath makes a GREAT late game heavy damage AP tank. Takes a MASSIVE beating and still throws down insane amounts of damage if you can practice with him. His passive, ascended form is amazing late game, and should definitely be capitalized on.

Athene's Unholy Grail
Abyssal Mask
Sorcerer's Shoes
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Void Staff
Rabadon's Deathcap

for maximum ap (meaning crazy armor WITHOUT any armor items) and a more than decent amount of mres. Pretty much dealing truedamage to EVERYONE with all the different kinds of pen. Blows people away from behind the fog of war. What's not to love? Im planning on getting good with him soon.

One thing though, he falls to fizz HARD. I've done it before (in 3s), there was no contest. Although not many people know that, since he isn't seen that much. I don't think i've ever laned against a xerath in my 1k+ 5v5 games...

Why Abyssal? You're usually shooting from narnia, I get you like the MR but since you're supposed to be lightyears away from the other caster anyway (unless they're the dashing type) I don't think it's that good on Xerath.
Thank you Tsuki for the sig!

Fiddle is a fantastic jungler. He's extremely fragile early game and even up to mid game, but come late game, he can be THE reason your team wins a teamfight with a surprise ultimate into the enemy team.
