Since I'm 2 EXP away from lv 30, I asked my friend, who has been playing this game since S1 and is pretty good, what I should really do to prepared for ranked. he told me that I shouldnt consider playing ranked until I've played more games and just being LV30 isnt good enough to play ranked. He then told me that I should try out every role and become at least decent at it and have a couple champs of every role. I got him to teach me to jungle but it just wouldnt work out. I've barely played as a jungler and only played it a feew times when I was forced to. Anyone want to play with me and give some tips? Have patience though, because I'd probably fail every gank in the worst way possible :P

Also, what champs should I buy for jungling? Right now I have Shen, Warwick, Xin, Darius, Ali and naut who *I think* are viable.

Yeah, although there are some exceptions who can carry themselves using only one or two champions, everyone else has to mostly learn all the roles in a game.

The junglers you have are all viable, but only Warwick stands out as an optimal choice to me (yes, you can do the other ones strictly speaking).

You should probably learn every role in some depth.

For junglers to get, I would suggest Olaf, Shyvana, Lee Sin and Amumu.

If you intend to play ranked, only play draft for serious games until the moment you start ranked. Make sure you have proper rune pages and your mastery pages are in order. Test champs in blind, practice in draft, ranked when ready.

Learn picks and counter-picks, synergies and abuse CC as much as possible.

But, of course, you should also practice all other roles. Unless you intend to raise your elo only with one role/champion.

Practise, practise, practise. The first 10 "seeding" ranked games have such a massive influence on your elo that you should only play characters and roles you feel very confident you can do well with.

With regards to jungling, try to decide if you want to play "farm/control" junglers or "ganking" junglers and practise accordingly. I personally love ganking junglers so i main Nautillus/Lee Sin. Try to work out what your preferred jungle play style is and then get some practise in.

For super basic jungle practise create a custom with you + 4AI vs 5 AI. Farm up your jungle and keep a constant watch on the map. When you see an enemy really overextending gank them and then get back to farming. I personally find this approach can help with developing a global map awareness, which is something you don't need quite as much when laning.

Edit: As cruel as it sounds this kind of bot game is good practise, because your bots won't really help with ganks. Good practise for solo queue: assume the people on your team are idiots and that you'll have to do everything yourself. This way you'll be pleasantly surprised if they're decent.

As a jungler, you will come across points where you will have to decide whether you want to farm more creeps or gank. Gank only when you think you can perform a successful one or you think you need to relieve the constant pressure the opponent may be applying. Otherwise, continue farming creeps untill needed. Thats just a tip I can give.

I would recommend getting champions like Lee Sin, Amumu, Malphite, Shyvana and Olaf. If you want to practice the basics of jungling, you should play normal draft games with Warwick. He has very good sustain and his ganks after getting his ultimate are very terrifying. If you need helps with runes or masteries, feel free to PM me! ( I rarely come on due to my ongoing exams so if you see me on AGuyWithPants, you can contact me there as well).

Hope I helped!

1. Ward enemy buffs and objectives.
2. Time objectives and buffs.
3. Runes are important mostly armor.
4. You shouldn't start ranked until you have around 300 games won.
5. Be comfortable with the jungler you are playing.

Hope it gave you a better idea of jungling PM with anymore questions :D
Thnx to Nameless bard for making it

Wow, thanks everyone who tried to help me out :D
I'll get some practice on bots with the current junglers I have and save up for some others. Considering Amumu as I'm quite comfortable with skill shots (I main naut) and Olaf. i think I shouldnt have too much of a problem with runes, though I only have 2 pages atm, one AP with MPen reds, Armour yellows, Scaling AP blues and AP Quints. My AD consists of AD reds, armour yellows, Scaling MR blues and AD quints. Should I swap the AD quints for Armour quints or use ASpd ones instead?
