Hi guys, wonder if anyone of remembered me, LOL.
Left mobafire, kinda back here to just discuss on Ahri (again).

Recently as I've climbing through the ranks and getting harder opponents, I realize my teamfight abilities are getting worse. I suppose this is the inadequate gameplay I have as Ahri during teamfights.

Read up on some positioning guides/general how-tos on improving Ahri's gameplay.
Found out some interesting quotes.
Someone one the LoL forum said this.

"Good Ahri(s) don't play fair"

How true do you guys think this statement is?
I sort of agree, considering her recent nerfs doesn't make her the assassin she used to be. But I need to know, why can't she play fair? Or maybe its because I'm too afraid that people will call me a leecher and what not.

Another thread says..

"Ahri is opportunist."

Reading back on how Morello (if I'm not mistaken) described her,
"Ahri is designed for an opportunistic player."

Can't really comprehend the statement, as I don't see her kit giving the ability to do that.
Would love to understand what most players think of Ahri, aside from your typical mage-assassin.
Do you think Ahri needs to play dirty to win? Do you think being an opportunist as Ahri is low and disgraceful?

Let's discuss, hopefully we can get some insights on how Ahri's gameplay as well.

Honestly I think any champ with great positioning and movement isn't "playing fair". It's not a bad thing at all though. That is kinda the entire point... to outclass people based on your skills, you aren't meant to play fair. Why it's considered "not playing fair" is because you are taking advantage of every little hole in their gameplay.

Honestly just gotta ignore the QQers. My rule of thumb, if people say something is OP in LoL forums then you are obvious doing something right and deserve a pat on the back.

In other words, I guess the golden rule of the thumb when playing as an Assassin is "do whatever it takes to win?" Even when your opponents dc-ed halfway and just stood there motionless and the opportunity for you to kill them presents itself in front of you, you take it no matter how cheap and dirty the trick is?

I honestly haven't found a way to play dirty with Ahri imho, lol.
My general principle in any games is that I don't kill anyone when they dc halfway or sometimes I give them the sympathy of hitting me, especially if lets say I face an AP mid who couldn't land a single hand on me, what I'd do is I'd just let myself walk in to their traps for once just so that they'd feel the contentment.

Does that make me a bad assassin player? LOL.

Speaking of opportunity, could you just give me some examples of being opportunistic in LoL. Like "enemy carry is out of position, so I go in for the kill" etc.

Hahaha you are way too nice...most people would kill who ever d/ced. Nah your not a bad assassin lol.

Hmm, it's hard to give examples because I am just so used to doing it. I'll still try.

Usually when I am farming I am watching like 3 things at once. 1- the mini map, 2- the minions so I can last hit and 3- the enemy I lane against so I can get their patterns down. It's really about finding errors people make against you and using it against them.

It's usually that I look for where people move to. I play ADC a lot so it's always something I look at.

If an enemy overextends by a small amount I let them the first time because I may not notice it. If I notice them do it a second time then I usually either poke them or stun them if I can. Usually it's not enough for me to kill, but just to get their errors down.

For more aggressive lane pushers, I normally let them get a small advantage and then kill them. I will pretend to be running so they get in close enough to me that they can't escape and then just close them in. I do this with Elise a lot because her spider form really allows you to quickly jump on enemies. I start off in human form when backing off, then wait for them to move closer, hit cocoon and then go spider form and kill them.

Sometimes I also turret hug against these types of players and then stun them as they try to get away before the turret targets them.
