Yes defnitely that would work against tanky laners. But early game its still recommended to poke them constantly, when they're the squishiest they're gonna be the whole game

Would you consider maxing Q in lane and just farming for the entire laning phase? Perhaps against those top laners that you mentioned who are just too tanky, like Mundo or Shen that would be a good idea?
What do you think or Morello vs AD, I know AP top laners are quite popular right now but Morello is good vs AD champs, or Mundo.

just played a game where i faced an ad lee sin. he could barely touch me all game and just resorted to farming and backing away in between getting ganked by my jungler.
also, my friends dont bother looking down on janna anymore after i read your guide ;)

On paper seraph's seems pretty good because of her high mana pool, but early game her cooldowns are quite high, so its gonna be hard to build your tear. Also, she will run out of mana extremely fast in lane spamming all the time to stack it up. While, getting a chalice early is such a safer pick. Its great in hard matchups with ap laners like elise or ryze, and you have great mana sustain to easily harass your opponent. Thanks for the suggestion though and ill add it to the items.

You have forgotten one thing which ap Janna TRULY should capitilize on. She got the highest base mana in the entire game meaning that archangel staff gives the most ap over any other champion. Also the seraphs embrace´s active also scales with mana which means a bigger sheild (the baits with your sheild and seraphs...) replace athenes with it. Anyways, I think that the build is ok otherwise.

Actually, i think the hybrid pen are much more recommended than the mag pen. Simply cause of the fact that you nearly always try to poke with aa. I don't know at what skilllevel you are or how good your csing is, but for me these runes are a must have in most matchups.
Edit: Also you should try out to get some ad from your masteries too, it really helps the early laning power. And you should go with flat or scaling ap glyphs if you dont face a lot of ap damage in lane.
