IPL Face Off Qualifiers get closer to finishing the round of 16

Qualifiers for the IPL Face Off: San Francisco Showdown, a live event at the Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco, California, continued this week. The teams are fighting through a qualifier to play at the showdown in San Francisco on August 11th and 12th. The competition started off with 32 teams. The round of 32 and round of 16 are single-elimination while the final eight teams of the qualifier will play out a double-elimination bracket. The top four teams will qualify to play at IPL Face Off. The team that wins the open qualifier will also earn $1,000 for their victory.

The qualifier is currently in the Round of 16 stage. The last couple of days have shown some good action between a few established teams (Dignitas, TSM Evo) and upcoming teams (4Not.Fire, Orbit).

Orbit Gaming's series versus Ordinance may have been the best of the qualifier so far. The games were back and forth. Orbit would take early leads but Ordinance would always find a way back in. These games will be a must watch If you like ping pong games.

In other action, Dignitas lost to 4Not.Fire. The loss was chalked up to high ping due to Dignitas being in South Korea for The Champions tournament. However, 4Not is not a team made up of scrubs and deserve a lot of credit for the win. 4Not.Fire is comprised of veterans like: TakashiX, Parol, OneBadBrad, and Zekint (The guy known for only Poppy in Top Lane). The loss however brought out this tweet from IWillDominate:

Team Dynamic was able to move on against the re-formed unRestricted Gaming. Also, TSM Evo was able to move on against Dash9 Gaming despite Aphromoo doing his best to feed with Draven.

The round of 16 will finish on Friday with Counter Logic Gaming playing the amateur team, Chuuper's Troopers. The brother team of CLG (CLG Black) will be facing off against Team Legion. Last but not least, Team Curse will be playing the new Monomaniac (former Choppa in da Car). Stay tuned to www.twitch.tv/ipllol for when the matches will take place.

A lot of good all of that 'training' in Korea is doing for Dig and CLG. :/
