Newer teams brawl during Week 3, Day 2 of the EU LCS
eSports Central
Week 3 of the EU LCS continued with DragonBorns, GIANTS, and aAa duking it out to prove that they deserve to compete with the strongest teams in the region. With every match today featuring one or more of the newer teams, games were intense and unpredictable as old rivalries were rekindled and new ones were made.

Week 3 Day 2 Picks and Bans
The first match of the day was between DragonBorns and GIANTS! Gaming. DragonBorns's Shushei broke out his mid lane
Vi, which was rather successful during the qualifying round. Combined with Malunoo's jungle
Kayle and Spontexx's top lane
Kha'Zix, DB were hoping to destroy GIANTS's AD carry as fast as possible. Both teams traded kills in skirmishes for the entire game - GIANTS picked up the first two kills on Jimbz's
Caitlyn, but DB responded with a double kill on Shushei. The score flickered back and forth, with neither team gaining a significant advantage until the very last fight by DragonBorns's middle inhibitor. GIANTS came out on top, and took advantage of DB's long respawns to win the game.
Game two featured longtime rivals Fnatic and aAa, who have had confrontations dating back to the Season 1 World Championships. Fnatic ran
Teleport on Cyanide's jungle
Volibear, while aAa ran AD
Kennen. An early lane swap and some great coordination gave aAa an early 3-turret advantage and first blood, but Fnatic responded by picking up three kills and a few turrets of their own. Fnatic's strength and experience won out, as they pick up a 4-0 exchange and secure a lead for the rest of the game. With YellOwStaR picking up a quadra kill in the last fight, Fnatic take the victory over aAa.
DragonBorns continued to innovate strategies by running
Jarvan IV and
Xin Zhao in the same game - but in the mid and top lane, respectively. They ran a double bruiser dive-heavy composition, with
Amumu and
Varus to hold them in place. Despite an early 1-2 deficit, they came back strong and swept the Copenhagen Wolves. In the next match, aAa and GIANTS both picked relatively orthodox team compositions. aAa came out on top, ending Day 2 of the third week of LCS EU. All three teams that played two games today - GIANTS, DB, and aAa - went 1-1, while Fnatic strengthened their lead and the Copenhagen Wolves fell further behind.
