TSM Grabs Big Lead in SoloMid Series
eSports Central
The Solomid Series #2 happened this weekend and it is becoming the TSM and Orbit show, as both teams meet in the finals again this week. This week TSM took the $2,000 1st place prize and the 380 points while Orbit Gaming took home $700 and 250 points.
The tournament was plagued by Hurricane Sandy knocking on the door of the East Coast and some prior commitments from CLG Prime and Curse. The team that was able to take advantage of the prior commitments from Curse was Pulse eSports (SneakyCastro, Kenikth, Support Daddy, Kevin, and Onionbagel). Pulse was able to beat Team Dynamic twice and was the only team to take a game off of TSM all weekend.
Current Standings for the Solomid Series:
The top 4 teams in the points standings will qualify for the playoffs that will feature a 12,000 prize pool with the winner getting $6,000. There is four more weeks of play for teams like CLG Prime and Curse to catch up in points.
