TSM Invitational #4 Day 2
eSports Central
This week's SoloMid invitational turned out to be a series of surprising upsets, and resulted in a very happy team Orbit. While Orbit Gaming has been in the scene for a while, and are by no means on the bottom of the food chain; no one expected them to beat out Team Dignitas, Team SoloMid, and the previous winner mTw. Orbit rode the winner's bracket straight to victory in TSM's 4th Weekly Invitational.
mTw put up a fight for first again this weekend, staying in the winner's bracket until they faced Orbit. Once they dropped to the losers bracket they proceeded to beat TSM 2-0 so that they could face Orbit one more time. Sadly for mTw Orbit won the finals match for $1200. Although picking up $500 for 2nd place is not bad either.

I think this tournament made TSM more wary of their competitors. At times the LoL competitive scene has seemed like only a few giants amongst a sea of lesser teams. These SoloMid Invitationals have really given the less popular teams a chance to shine, and have showed viewers they can play on the same level as TSM and CLG.
It is unfortunate that DDoS attacks have become such an issue for online League of Legends tournaments, and that they continue to plague TSM's tournaments in particular. If you are concerned about protecting yourself from DDoS attacks I would suggest reading TheAldo's article on how to protect yourself. While DDoS'ers typically only target internet celebrities it can never hurt to be cautious.
