IGN Proleague's Nick Allen broke the story of the retirement of Team Solomid's Reginald. Reginald cites time issues with running www.solomid.net and also the fact he has been in the scene since the beginning.
The day to day of running www.solomid.net had to be a taxing responsibility for the talented AP Carry. Many will say that the results of the World Championships pushed Reginald into this decision but that may not be the case. Judging from the interview, this was decided before the World Championships.
Reginald went on to say this on Facebook:
"Ill be making a vlog shortly explaining the situation... I will only retire if we can find a more suitable AP mid player for our team. My decisions will only benefit SoloMid and TSM. If we cannot find a more suitable player than myself by the end of our offseason, then i'll be playing league for S3."
So from here, there are only questions. Who will take the spot? How will they handle the obvious pressure that will come with this position? Will Team Solomid be the same, dominant North American team? One thing is for certain, it will be interesting and fun finding out how this will turn out.
UPDATE!
Reginald pulls a Brett Favre.
