Welcome to eSports Central

Hey all!

You may have noticed that our menu has once again changed :) There is a new item there that we are VERY excited about, and very proud to reveal today - eSports Central!!

We've been working hard to put together a strong news team and to build out this new section to become your primary source for all LoL eSports news. We'll be covering any and all leagues, tournaments and other events in and around the community. You can look forward to daily news about the scene, the pros, the state of the game and more! There will be complete records of what tournaments are happening, when and where they're happening, how to sign up, which streams to watch and some other "hush" ideas as well. We want to further enhance your League of Legends experience by providing up-to-date reports and other topics of discussion. We know how much everyone here loves to talk and read LoL strategy, so we hope this provides countless more hours of education, discussion and entertainment for all levels of players.

eSports Central is in its infancy, this is just the start! What does the future hold? For one thing, we plan on bringing back our in-house tournaments. Those of you that have been here a while know that we ran a few tournaments in the past. You also know that Mowen has been kicking off in-house matches for fun, learning and competition. We will be moving all of this under the new eSports Central umbrella, so you will be able to track it all in one place and easily join in! Make sure you keep your eyes peeled, as our first tournament should be opening for registration NEXT WEEK and you won't want to miss out!

We've pulled together some talent and experience from the eSports Industry to help us out. We'll let them introduce themselves.

DetonatoR: Hi there! I'm Shashi and I'm coming on board as the eSports Manager for MOBAFire. I'll be heading this new eSports Central and working with my awesome news team to provide you guys and gals quality coverage of the League of Legends scene. I'll also be organizing lots of fun MOBAFire tournaments for both casual and competitive gamers alike! I've been in the eSports community for over a decade now and have been fortunate enough to work with a couple different organizations and websites like Evil Geniuses, compLexity, GameRiot, and Amped eSports, and previously was eSports Director for Heroes of Newerth. It's awesome to be joining such a great community here and I cant wait to start! You can also find me on twitter (@detonatR).

TheAldo: Hey everyone! My name is Alan and I am happy to be writing for this wonderful community at MOBAFire. I have been a writer in the eSports scene for a little over a year now and have been writing about League of Legends for a few months. I enjoy watching and reporting on all the professional matches. My previous writing experience has been with the North American Star League (SC2), ESFI World (LoL Content Director), and eSports Business (my blog about the business of eSports). You can expect that I will bring an assortment of interviews, event coverage, and editorials about the business side of League. Follow me on Twitter (@lafleuralan) if you so desire. Cheers!

Mowen: Hi everybody! I'm Mary-Anna. When I became a member in 2010, I did not expect to go on to become a Veteran, a Moderator, and finally an Admin. With my new title comes new responsibility. I will be contributing articles to our shiny new eSports section, as well as organizing in-house games for this awesome community. MOBAFire has always been known for educating new players through our guides, and we're happy to now provide you with more options to improve your game. Don't worry though! I will still be patrolling the forums and responding to reports as always. :)

Shakaku: Salutations, I'm Tyler. I've been chosen to make eSports Central look as beautiful as possible as the new content artist. I've been doing web design work for almost 10 years, and have my degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia. I have done content art for sites such as GameReplays and ESFI World. I'm currently an IT Manager and Webmaster for several Oklahoma non-profit organizations, and spend most of my free time collecting games and growing my Steam library, playing Diablo 3, League of Legends, Tribes Ascend and Guild Wars 2. You can find me on Reddit - Shakakaku, and Twitter @Fietfire.

Welcome aboard guys!!

We have already begun posting articles and tournaments. Click around, read, post your thoughts. Then come back here and tell us what you think!!
