Views: 1776 Celebrations (Meiyjhe update 18)

Hello boys and girls,
First I shall boost my E-peen by bragging about having 500 +rep!
Now that is out of the way, put on your party hats and get ready to read some more celebration worthy events!

1. ****** stuff
So I explained in the last blog the ****** situation I had. From then on a bunch of **** happened. For starters: I am now completely out!
At first it was hard for me to come out because I was afraid that people might not accept my situation, but surprisingly they do. The reason I find this surprising is because I know many other ******s that were less fortunate and I myself always expected the worst. It feels liberating that I do not have to hide this anymore and can now be an open ******.
Now thats not everything for I have a boyfriend for 3 months now and things are going really well. At first we had a bit of a wonky start, but the more I am with him the more I love him. It is very strange. Anyway, I could talk a lot about our relationship, but instead I will shamelessly advertise my BFs youtube channel where also our dates are recorded <3

2. School stuff
Schools third year is officially finished. I passed EVERYTHING this semester which feels awesome as usually I always manage to fail a course or 2.
The things I did this semester as well were quite interesting. We had to reuse contents of wastewaters in order to create bioplastics, we learned how wastewater treatment plants work, we learned what it is like to create an Environmental Impact Assessment (which is superfun!) and for the first time on school, we learned how to manage a busy schedule. Having two big projects going on on the same time is seemingly extremely time consuming :D
However, both projects went splendid. Both groups that I worked with were amazing in their own way and I nailed every assessment in the first try.
3. Cuba
Now for the next celebration I am going to Cuba for 2 weeks on... next friday I believe? Obviously this means that I wont attend inhouses and blablalbalblabla. Basically I am unavailable :D
Mother and father thought it was a cool idea to go there now that Cuba is still in its oldfashion state, as they feel it will change rather quickly since Cuba dropped the gun on the USA. So I will go to mama Cuba, see some commies in action, watch my dad smoke some sigars and hide from the sun!
4. Innovating forum awards
Finally, less of a celebratory topic, although the fact that I didn't forget about it is celebration worthy I guess?
Anyway I was thinking:
It would be much easier for me and smooth out the whole forum awards process much more IF the voting and nomination phase would be combined. That would mean that the nomination would be done via survey monkey instead. Then I can just count nominations and the one with the most nominations would win rather than having two seperate phases.
Although this would smoothen things out a lot, I am fearing that the publicity would be much lower as there wouldn't be any comments popping up in the "Activity feed" on the front page. If anyone has any insight on this manner it would be much appreciated. I am planning to open up nominations due mid August.

I will not organise the Forum Awards 2015. This is because I am unsure how much time I have during the december and januari period plus the fact that I feel attention for the FA has dropped severely and I don't feel like innovating the whole thing just in order to get the participation I would like to see.
If you feel like organising it yourself, it would be lovely and I would be willing to help. But I will not be the one organising it.
