That build is sadly, largely set in stone, except on a few carries like Ezreal, Draven and Corki who often opt for Trinity Force. These guides also probably only assume you are playing bot lane with a support, and I know most carries can build differently and go else (I'm a big fan of AP Mid Varus and Bruiser Top Graves). But for a general guide of their most common role it's fine.

Side Note: it's ok to explain the build even if everyone uses it, because new players do use this site and need to know WHY to use it.

I'm curious as to what other alternative ADC build paths are there besides Trinity Force. No, this is a serious question. I got chewed out by a friend's friend once for building on-hit on Kog'Maw, which made me sad because that build did work most of the time when I played him.

I never played Kog'Maw again. Almost never, anyway.

Trinity Force or slightly switching up the order is about as different as it gets. I don't have a problem with it personally though.
