people should listen to more classical music :3
Views: The_Nameless_BardI played the second and third movements of this concerto for solo/ensemble contest (I got a 1 on it :3) when I was a senior in HS, and listening to it again it's gorgeous. :3

Really nice piece, hard to beat the baroque era for classical imo. Shame you don't hear much of the oboe in general, I've never liked organs too much myself, but the oboe is where I like the sound the organ produces - if that makes sense, though it probably doesn't. If you could play this then you're really talented - and I hope you cherish said talent and not let it go to waste. I didn't know you liked classical though (though I did know you played oboe), NamelessBard, who's your favourite composer?

I actually really like more modern composers. Michael Head is one I really like...along with John Williams and Howard Shore (yea...I love movie score composers, what I can say?). I do like some Mozart ('specially the requiem :3), Bach, Handel, and Beethoven though...Baroque is NOT my favorite type of classical music at all tbh....I only played this piece because my oboe teacher said I should.

Personally, I like classical music whenever it comes to my ears, whenever it is plated. ^_^ And I appreciate any piano/violin and that sort of instrument players! |

I've always really liked classical music. It's probably my second choice when I'm not banging to some metal.

Being a fan of extreme metal I was exposed to classical as well. There are always been somewhat of a crossover going on, be the chick playing metal classics on the piano or the guy running his fingers on the fret to a classical masterpiece. Or you could wander around some symphonic Black Metal that transposed the classical structure into a more extreme genre. Then you can give a chance to a band like Therion that has some pretty amazing pieces, some were even played by full classical orchestra. Or why not give Mekong Delta a chance and fall for Mussorgsky at full thrash metal speed :) ![]() |
