Your item build looks a lot like mine. So I feel somewhat vindicated there. I hadn't considered using Health Seals or Mana Glyphs. But your points make sense and its easy enough to try.
The rune page is definitely different. I usually go with a 21-0-9 rune page. I'm a little concerned about having spell and blade-weaving since with lots of CDR he really won't be AAing much. Expanded Mind makes sense since his skills scale based not just on AP, but on mana. +5% more Mana = +5% more spell damage, which is a pretty big boost right from the get-go. But to do that, I have to gut the offensive page.
The only serious issue I have with this build is the ridiculously over-stated 18k mana in the title. Unless there is some sort of multiplication of mana I don't know about, your typical build would have 3728 mana and using a rough a conversion factor of 4.5% (varies based on which ability is used) that would be a bonus of 168AP at full build. Doesn't seem like much to be honest.
