I am currently just Gold in EUW but I promise you I can teach you alot about this champion.
I hope you're going enjoy my little guide. Its also my first ever :)
Combo's
E a minion wait for your E to come back & then E it again so the Spell Flux spreads to all minions and, in most scenarios, you can clear a wave with one singe Q.
Maximum Damage Output : Q W Q E Q
As you can see you just have to press Q every once after you pressed W or E because using Rune Prison (W) or Spell Flux (E) brings your Overload (Q) back from Cooldown.
For escaping : E W Q
If you use any spells (except your Q) twice youll gain a Rune which you can use to get a shield. Activate the Rune with your Q. After u triggered your shield u also get movementspeed based on your Q's Skilllevel.
Pros / Cons
-Situational combos
-Fast waveclear, thanks to his E which does AoE Damage if u cast it twice.
-High damage output
-Can also play on Midlane
-Overall a solid Pick
Cons
-As Ryze you'll probably get camped
-Long ranged champions are superior to you
-No specific escape
Runepage
-
I'm using this runepage because:
Movementspeed is essential on Ryze and you need to get a lot of it because MS is one of Ryze' biggest problems after his mana issue.
Scaling Healt because youre going to get enough resistance in your build and with those runes and Rod of Ages together youre gonna have more than 2400hp in the mid/-lategame which is pretty nice.
Magic Penetration just for the extra damage. I don't take Ability Power-runes because Ryze has a nice scaling with mana, which means that all of his mana is doing magic damage. Also if your enemy team does have a veigar youre going to get oneshotted in the late game which is really awful.
Scaling CD Reduction I took six of them because it gives you 10% CDR @lv18 which synergizes very nice with your ults passive, which gives you 30% CDR at rank 3. You can also take it out if you want to build Zhonya's or Abyssal Scepter since they give you also 10% CDR.
Scaling MR just 3 of them because it will be enough for the lategame if you get Abyssal Scepter or Mercurys Treads because youre going to get +70 MR which makes you very tanky with your big healt pool.
Skill order :
If you cant skill up your Q, skill your W. I know Ryze's Rune Prison scales awfully and doesnt gives you a longer root anymore but his E is kinda lategame spell since it increases the damage of your Q and if u skill W you'll get a bit lower Cooldown on it, which I think is very important since you have no real escape at all.
After u have 6 points in your Q you should start maxing E even if your W isn't fully maximized.
R isn't that much decisive since it just gives, you at rank 2, a doubled range on your "Teleport" Ultimate. If you use it often and you know what to do with it max it at Lvl 11.
Max your Q out when you can even when you can put a second point into your Ult.
