Introduction

Hello! My name is Tim aka ProbabIy Jungle aka MgFe7Si8O22OH2 and I am a Platinum ranked jungle main.
This is my first guide I'll ever do, so be kind to me please! If there are improvements, please let me know!

This is my guide for Yorick .

Runes

For runes I really like 3x AD Quints, 9x AD Marks, 9x Armor Seals and 9x Scaling MR Glyphs.
The reason I have no Health runes is because I would build a lot of HP in game.
You also could go either 3x or 9x Cooldown Reduction Glyphs, but that does not fit my own playstyle and I'm not comfortable with it since I am not a main laner but a jungler. This is why I really like defensive runes.

Masteries

For my masteries I will give you an explaination, because some could be really vague.



FEROCITY: 12

Fury vs Sorcery

Okay, I have seen people building some attack speed items on Yorick since his basic attacks are really slow. I don't like building any attack speed on Yorick since you have to be very defensive with this build. However, I take Fury because it's just plain better.

Double Edged Sword vs Feast vs Expose Weakness

I take Feast since it stacks really well with your heal from your and Grasp of the Undying.
I do not take Double Edged Sword because I really don't like receiving more damage in this case.
Expose Weakness is not bad at all since you're be tanky, but still in the backline. Your pets will mostly attack the enemy, and not you.

Vampirism vs Natural Talent

Like I said before, I'm not a main laner and am very defensive. This is why I like re-gaining Health.

Bounty Hunter vs Oppressor

With this build, you have no need to take a mastery that deals damage for every unique enemy. Since Yorick has a slow on his E, and you will build Iceborn Gauntlet , you'll do more damage in that case.



RESOLVE: 18

Recovery vs Unyielding

Pure preference. You could go for the Health Regeneration if it fits you. I like Armor and MR more.

Explorer vs Tough Skin


You don't need the extra movement speed Explorer gives you in bushes and river. Trust me. The less damage does not seem like a lot, because it's not. But it's better for a tanky build.

Runic Armor vs Veteran's Scars

I like flat Health better overall. If you are really going for a recovery build, you could do Runic Armor, but it doesn't really fit this build. Warmors will heal you fast enough already.

Insight vs Perseverance

I'm very cautious in my own lane, which is why I like Perseverance. Insight is not bad. In fact, it's great, but just not for my personal playstyle.

Swiftness vs Legendary Guardian

This too, is preference. I like escaping, and can really not use slows. This is why I take Swiftness, but Legendary Guardian is good if you're afraid of 3 man ganks.

Grasp of the Undying vs Strength of the Ages vs Bond of Stone

This should be obvious. Take Grasp.
It works really well with your . You don't need Strength of the Ages, since it's more a jungle rune. You COULD however take SotA if you're going for big damages, but since we're talking about a push and tanky build, just take Grasp. It's for the better.

Gameplay

Laning phase should be quite obvious. You last hit with your . When there's 3 or 4 graves, you use Awakening to summon your Mistwalkers. If you hit your on an unit your Mistwalkers will attack them. You could also use your Q to harass them ever further.

The part I wanna talk about is pushing. Since your Maiden of the Mist ( ) sucks life out of everything, she's great for pushing. This is the part where you hide your Zz'Rot Portal out of sight, promote a minion with Banner of Command and push down a turret in no time. Also, use your since it resets your auto attack timer.

Remember you're a tank, and not a high damage dealing fighter. You won't win early 1v1's with his build. Poke a lot, get the enemy a bit low, and deal the finishing blow. Don't go for a 100% full HP vs 100% full HP, because you simply won't win that.

Spells

This is own preference. I have played with it with Flash, but since you'll be pretty slow it's really good to take Ghost . Cage your enemy in a and run away. You'll be a lot faster with Ghost .

Ranked Play

Although it seems like a troll build, you could easily take this into ranked. It's not too punishing in lane and it's good for being a tank. I see no reason why you should not take this into ranked, as long as you make good decisions.

Pros / Cons

PROS

+Very tanky. Not easily to kill, especially with ult.
+Very good at pushing and/or splitpushing. You could easily take a tower or two alone and gain gold for your team.
+Even though tanky, still deals a good bit of damage.
+Very fun to play.

CONS

-Not really good versus ranged champions i.e Quinn or Teemo.
-He does quite a bit of damage, but can not just 1v2. He's pretty good vs squishy champions though.
