Hello and welcome to Aurelion Sol Support Guide! I hope you find everything here useful, and sorry if the guide is missing some important information. I'm currently updating the guide as much as possible and I hope to finish it soon. The build isn't perfect yet but I do believe Aurelion Sol can be a great support.

Pros

+ Excellent Harass and Poke.
+ Nice Stun for trades.
+ Great engage for ally jungle ganks.
+ Great disengage for enemy jungle ganks.
+ Scale quite well and Rylai's gives you a huge power spike.
+ Team fights are strong, fight in backline along with the adc.

Cons

- Somewhat weak pre-level 6.
- Cannot hide in bot-lane bushes.
- Must keep your distance to prevent bad trading.
- Vulnerable to high CC. If he isn't able to move, he can't do much damage.
- Falling behind can result in never recovering.

Ability Spells

Center of the Universe
RANGE: 325 / 650



[Innate: Aurelion Sol is constantly orbited by three Stars, and beyond them exists an Outer Limit affecting his damaging abilities. Ability-inhibiting crowd control disables Center of the Universe.

Three stars constantly orbit Aurelion Sol, dealing 20-130 (based on level) + 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 (depending on rank of Celestial Expansion) (+18-35% of ability power based on level) magic damage and executing minions below 25 Health, while applying spell effects to all enemies they strike.

Enemy effects that prevent the casting of spells will also disable these Stars.


Tips
  • Your three stars will disappear if a silence or stun hits your champion. It is suggested that you don't use your Celestial Expansion on an enemy unless you stun the enemy first with Starsurge. That way they can not turn your stars off when you attack them.

COOLDOWN: 10 Seconds



Active: Aurelion Sol fires the core of a newborn star in the target direction, which expands as long as it remains within the Outer Limit and grants him 10% bonus movement speed.

Upon traveling beyond the Outer Limit or reactivating Starsurge, the core Starsurge 2 detonates, dealing magic damage to all enemies caught within and Stun icon stunning them.

Magic Damage: 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+ 65% AP)
Stun Duration: 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5


Tips
  • You can activate Starsurge while you have Comet of Legend activated. This creates strong ganks and a large AoE stun.
  • As long as you stay within the outer-limit of Starsurge, you will gain extra movement speed and Starsurge will grow larger and larger.
  • When firing your Starsurge, there is a small delay between when you can detonate it. If an enemy is in your face, the best thing you can do is use Voice of Light to knock them back and Starsurge to stun them.

Passive: The Center of the Stars' base damage is increased.

Toggle: Aurelion Sol Celestial Expansion 2 pushes his Center of the Universe Stars out to the Outer Limit and increases their damage by 50%.

Bonus Damage: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25
Total Damage: 30 - 195 (based on level) (+ 7.5 / 15 / 22.5 / 25 / 37.5) (+ 27 - 52.5 (based on level)% AP)

COST: 60 Mana
COOLDOWN: 60 / 55 / 50 / 45 / 40



ACTIVE: Aurelion Sol pulls in his Center of the Universe Stars and takes flight in the chosen direction, gaining unobstructed sight and ignoring terrain and unit collision. Aurelion Sol can also be seen regardless of obstructions.

Performing any action (excluding Starsurge) or taking damage from champions or turrets will end Comet of Legend early.

If Aurelion Sol hasn't taken damage for 5 seconds, he can activate Comet of Legend.

Max. Bonus Movement Speed: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45%


Tips
  • Comet of Legend can be a very powerful ganking tool and can initiate a teamfight. It's passive grants you extra movement speed as long as you stay in a straight line. Taking sharp turns will reset your base movement speed and will need to build its speed back up.
  • Leveling up this ability will greatly increase the range of your active.
  • Dead Man's Plate is a really good item on Aurelion Sol since you gain even more movement speed. Sharp turning will also not be as bad with this item since you do not lose your stacks.

Voice of Light
RANGE: 1300
COST: 100 Mana
COOLDOWN: 120 / 100 / 80



Aurelion Sol breathes out a blast of pure starfire, dealing 200 / 300 / 400 (+70% of ability power) magic damage and slowing struck enemies by 40 / 50 / 60%, for 2 seconds. Nearby enemies caught in the blast are also knocked back to Aurelion Sol's outer ring.

Magic Damage: 150 / 250 / 350 (+ 70% AP)
Slow: 40 / 50 / 60%


Tips
  • The range on Voice of Light is crazy and can be used to slow, knock back or finish your enemies. This ability works very well with he's entire kit and can make some sick combos.
  • This is ability can be used to disengage team fights, enemy ganks or the exact opposite which to engage on the enemy as well. Combining your Starsurge with Voice of Light can create of heavy damage and is a great follow up for your teammates.
  • Stealing main objectives like Dragon or Baron Nashor is almost as good as Lux's Final Spark [R].
  • This abiltiy's cast-time is so quick that is is nearly impossible to dodge or react too. If you compare this to Lux's Final Spark, it is much faster.

Flash - 4 / Recommended
LEVEL: 8
RANGE: 425
COOLDOWN: 300 Sec.



Teleports your champion toward your cursor's location.

---- Why? ----

Flash is a good spell to escape or engage a fight. For example, if an enemy is inside your passive (Your most vulnerable blindspot), enemies can do tons of damage to you. This spell can be used to escape that weakness and after gaining range from the enemy, you can potentially land a stun ( Starsurge).




Exhaust - 4 / Recommended
LEVEL: 4
RANGE: 650
COOLDOWN: 210 Sec.



Exhausts target enemy champion, reducing their damage dealt by 40% for 2.5 seconds and reducing their attack and movement speed by 30% for the duration. Also shreds 10 Armor and Magic Resistance.

---- Why? ----

Exhaust is a great spell on Aurelion Sol because it not only reduces an enemy's damage by 40% but also slows them long enough for your stars to hit them ( Celestial Expansion) and do a great deal of damage. This also creates openings for your adc to deal damage as well and will most likely secure the kill. If the adc can't deal enough damage after your stun, this will most likely cause the enemy to burn their flash and will create good opportunities for your jungler to set up a gank in the near future. In my opinion this Spell is by far the best spell for Aurelion Sol Support.




Ignite - 3
LEVEL: 10
RANGE: 600
COOLDOWN: 210 Sec.



Ignites target enemy champion, dealing 70-410 true damage (depending on champion level) over 5 seconds and applying Grievous Wounds to them for the duration (Grievous Wounds reduces self-healing and regeneration rates by 40%).

---- Why? ----

Ignite might not be the best spell for supports but this spell is great for dealing extra damage to secure kills for your adc. It is recommended using this spell not before the enemy dies but rather when you attack the enemy after you stun them ( Starsurge). However, this spell does become rather weak in the mid-game and late-game because the spell eventually doesn't do enough damage to kill tanky-ish enemies. This is just an early game spell and could get your bot lane fed enough to win the game. It simply will increase your chances to get kills that other spells won't get you.




Heal - 2/3 (2.5)
LEVEL: 1
RANGE: 850
COOLDOWN: 240 Sec.



Heals the caster and the allied champion nearest to the caster's cursor (or the most wounded ally if no target is near the cursor) by 90-345 health, and gives affected champions +30% movement speed for 1 seconds. Heal is 50% less effective on allies previously healed with another Summoner Spell Heal within the past 35 seconds.

---- Why? ----

Having double Heal bot lane (assuming that the adc takes heal) can be used to your advantage in a 2v2. If used correctly, you can almost guarantee your victory versus the other two enemy bot laners. You can use Heal to save your adc from dying when being hit by the enemies or creeps after winning the 2v2. Heal also gives you a small movement boost for a second to get away from an enemy jungler or to engage a fight while healing someone at the same time. Although this isn't the best spell, sometimes taking heal can be great to prevent you from dying against high damage dealers.

2 Gold Generation, 500 Health, 100% Base Health Regeneration. UNIQUE Passive: Spoils of War: Melee basic attacks execute minions below 240 Health. Killing a minion heals the owner and the nearest allied champion for 50 Health and grants them kill gold. Allies who benefit from Spoils of War also gain +1 to their minions killed score. These effects require a nearby allied champion. Recharges every 30 seconds. Max 4 charges.

UNIQUE Passive: Warding: Consumes a charge to place a Stealth Ward that reveals the surrounding area for 150 seconds. Holds up to 4 charges which refill upon visiting the shop.



Ruby Sightstone - 2

UNIQUE Passive: Ward Refresh: Starts with 4 charges and refills each time you visit the shop. UNIQUE Active: Ghost Ward: Consumes a charge to place a Stealth Ward that reveals the surrounding area for 150 seconds. 1 second cooldown. Each player can have no more than three Stealth Wards placed on the map at a time.

50 Ability Power, 30 Armor, 10% Cooldown Reduction, 250 Mana. UNIQUE Passive: When within 1000 units of each other, you and your Conduit ally generate Charges. Attacking or casting spells generates extra Charges. At 100 Charges, causing damage consumes them, increasing you and your ally's Ability Power by 20% and Critical Strike Chance by 50% for 8 seconds. UNIQUE Active: Conduit: Bind to target ally (60 second cooldown). This will remove all other Conduits on your target.

UNIQUE Passive: Gain 20% of the premitigation damage dealt to champions as Blood Charges, up to 100 - 250 max. UNIQUE Passive: Harmony: Grants 100% base health regen per 5 seconds if your current health percentage is lower than your current mana percentage. Grants 100% base mana regen per 5 seconds if your current mana percentage is lower than your current health percentage.

UNIQUE Passive - Crushing Blow: Basic attacks discharge all Momentum, dealing 1 bonus physical damage per 2 stacks. If 100 stacks are discharged, damage is doubled and the target is slowed by 50% decaying over 1 second (melee only).

UNIQUE Passive: Point Runner: Builds up to 20% Movement Speed over 2 seconds while near turrets, destroyed turrets or Void Gates, the movement speed build up decays upon leaving the area. UNIQUE Active: Spawns a Void Gate at target location for 150 seconds. Every 4 seconds the gate makes a Voidspawn that travels down the nearest lane. Voidspawn explode when attacking structures. Voidspawn ignore champions and void targets (150 second cooldown.)

The first and every fourth Voidspawn made by Void Gate gains 15% of your total health as damage.
