Why is this build viable and so fun to play?
At first glance, this build may seem a little lacking in stats.. But once you feel the effects in game and use all of the stats for what they are intended, the outplay potential, gap closing, burst, and escape potential is insane!
Main reasons for core and why this build works:
- Early sustain and active from Gunblade for slow, part of combo.
- Increased E dash range from Rapid FireCannon, part of combo, can have some funny results*!
- Sheen effect applies on E, part of combo, 30% cdr w/ trinity lucidity.
-Ekko utilizes these runes masteries and the core items crazy good.
What is the burst combo?
Begin preferably from cover, and place your W on enemy, with this build you have the movement speed and bonus E gap closing potential so landing W stun easy.
After W, combo is E (empowered with RFC and sheen), Q + Gunblade active, passive will proc, land second half of q, and then basics after if needed using e and q when off cooldown to chase, dive, re position, juke.
The combination of the movement speed from your passive proc, Rapid FireCannon movement speed bonus, Phage on-hit passive and Trinity or Lichbane movement speed, is crazy! After proccing your passive you are so fast that you can keep chasing, or escape easily from under tower/juke cc and abilities..
If you are an experienced Ekko player this build feels like ekko is meant to be played. Massive mobility and burst with some nice sustain from gunblade passive, and honestly it feels like an upgraded kit! For new Ekko players, this is a great build to learn him as well in Mid, Top, or Jungle! I play this build in all 3 and it works great in them all. If going jungle go Chilling Smite Runic Echoes, as this will be part of your burst combo as well! Also switch out Assassin for Runic Affinity for longer blues and reds :3
THE MATH! (EARLY vs LATE)
Base damage numbers of combo lvl 1 abilities without AP, cutlass and revolver and kircheis instead of gunblade and rfc, sheen:
E 100(40+59 base ad) + Q 100(60+40) + cutlass 100 + revolver 75 + kircheis 40 + sheen 60 + W passive ~80(% missing health so roughly) + passive ~60 + thunderlords ~60 + ignite ~120 = around 800 instant damage before resistances, 0 AP scaling, lvl 1 abilities, ~ lvl 4 thunderlords and ign.
Late Game, lvl 18 maxed abilities and recommended items + blue pot, Work in progress -
E 275 + Q 513 + Gunblade 345 + Rapid FireCannon 160 + Passive 482 + W Passive 200 + Trinity Force 212 + Thunderlords 235 + Ignite 410 = Atleast 2832 before resistances!!*
*I don't include ult as part of the combo because with the movement speed from the build you mostly use ult as an escape tool. But you can also add chilling smite and ult to this amount as well, which is well over 3000 damage.
This instant burst of damage comes completely unexpected, and feels like full AP Ekko.. leaving your enemies bewildered and confused. Trust me when I say you will hear from the enemy ADC in all chat hehe xD
