Could you add a section with the changes of the guide?

That's an awesome Idea! I added it at the very bottom of the Summary. I'm starting the Change Log from patch 7.12. I'll definitely keep it updated. Let me know what you think of it; maybe I should go more in depth? Anyway, thank you for helping me improve my guide!

Awesome guide! I love how concise everything is. The deeper analysis section is great for deeper readers (like me). Great job, +1.

What would you say is the best elixir for this guide? Elixir of Iron or Elixir of Sorcery?

Jointed (3) | March 29, 2017 4:15pm
Thanks for the idea to add! I would definitely say the Elixir of Iron outpaces the Elixir of Sorcery. Elixir of Sorcery gives us +50 AP, 15 per 5 Mana Regeneration and 25 True Damage on Champion and Turret auto attacks. That's all fine and well, but unfortunately for the Elixir of Sorcery, the Elixir of Iron gives us 25% Tenacity, on top of +300 bonus health. We want to be ready to protect our team as much as possible, and the Elixir of Iron helps us accomplish this the best.

Hi, Don't you think building Talisman of Ascension all the time may not be good in some cases, I'm almost always building Ardent Censer as it gives huge boost for 2v2 trading with a Vayne that building crit, you can provide her extra life steal and DPS by increased attack speed stats, also bonus shield and ap seems awesome too and shouldn't be skipped, I'm picking Talisman of Ascension in some special compositions, for ex when my team has Sivir and Olaf but otherwise always picking armor giving support item doesn't seem perfect right to me, but nowadays sup items built from coin is core for Janna since poking with spell thief is almost an insane desire *-* BTW thanks for the guide! do you have any future update plans because I like to read unnecessarily in-depth Janna guides ._.

Hey Riku! I thoroughly implore you to mix up your build to find what is most successful for you, just know why you're picking what you're picking. I do find that upgrading to Talisman of Ascension right away is not always the right decision. What you build will often depend on many things such as your Carry, your team composition or the other team composition.

Ardent Censer is legitimately my favorite support item for Janna at the moment (I love when i can get a full-team Ardent Censer buff with Monsoon, but I find myself frequently hesitant to reliably purchase this item in Solo Queue. The Value of this item massively changes depending on the skill level of your Carry. Unfortunately, I find that the opportunity cost of rushing Ardent Censer over Mikael's Crucible is too great if you do not know your lane partner.

I find Talisman of Ascension to be an amazing positioning tool, wither you are engaging or disengaging. This does indeed help with hard-to-engage champs like Olaf, but also helps neutralize gap-closers like Hecarim, Warwick, Talon, and Sivir. This upgrade to Talisman of Ascension can definitely wait until 2nd or 3rd item though. It grabs most of its value in mid to late game anyhow.

I do plan to keep updating this guide, I will most likely add a bit more in my Deeper Analysis section. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my guide!

Excellent guide! It's concise and full of substance. I'm quite a fan of your writing voice as well, which held my interest as I read. :)

How do you think Janna fares against Taric in lane?

Great catch L3gislacerator, I missed the Mighty Taric! I would place Taric at a 3/10. Taric excels at soaking up damage, healing his carry and stunning his lane opponents (and I don't just mean with looks). Even though Taric will make it difficult to delete his carry, he does not exceed in taking Janna's carry out either.

Do beware of his ultimate, Cosmic Radiance; it has great bait and outplay potential in early game as well as late game. Counter his ultimate with your chain cc, disengage and damage mitigation until it resolves. A good Taric can rank up to even a 5 or 6/10.

Thank you for reading, commenting and improving my guide!

It's looking like a great guide, Jointed! I'm interested in your CDR start. Do you find it's more difficult to control your mana usage if you have shorter cooldowns? +1 :)

Controlling your Mana usage is definitely an important part to laning phase, but with great power comes great responsibility! Our early cooldown reduction shines during elongated trades in the early game with Eye Of The Storm.

As you gain experience with Janna you will discover you very rapidly adapt to your Mana Economy. Most of your Mana efficiency stems from when you are utilizing your abilities and the value you are attaining from them. Luckily, we don't have to nearly is as responsible in mid to late game! All of our key items give us oodles of Mana Regeneration for terrorizing the enemy team.

Although, to not completely dodge your question: I find that the increased Mana usage from our 20% cooldown reduction is not too difficult to control. If you find yourself low on Mana, you have most likely gotten serious value out of your recent trades! Thank you so much for taking the time out to not only read my guide, but pose me a difficult questions as well!

PS: Thank you again for your guide, Making a Guide. Your guide is super clean and very easy to understand and learn from. My Janna guide would have never happened without you! :)

haha +rep, great response! Perhaps you could add something about mana economy in your guide and the value of well-used Eye Of The Storms. Keep up the great work! By the way, the information in your Deeper Analysis section is helpful and I don't know if it should be spoilered as new users may miss it all.

I really enjoyed the build! I prefer rushing Locket over Mikael's though. I feel like its stronger for team fights. I really enjoyed all of the match up information!

Although Mikael's Crucible has better value in keeping your ADC alive and enhancing your kit, Locket of the Iron Solari is nothing to laugh at for sure! Haha. I just prefer to get Locket of the Iron Solari Later on since it scales with your Level, where as you get the full value of Mikael's Crucible straight away.

I suggest you run with what ever you feel most comfortable with! Nothing feels better than knowing your play and preferences are evolving as a result of my hard work. Thank you so much for reading my guide! And feedback to boot!

Wouldn't peeling your carry be more worth than giving them a shield? Plus you get all the extra healing from Mikael's. If anything I'd go Redemption over Locket.

To add to this, get both because they are amazing support items, but redemption is for sustain, locket is for burst damage from the enemy team. If they have a Ziggs, redemption won't do anything, but Locket of the Iron Solari can save your teammates so prioritize that first in that specific situation.

Also, I think Ardent Censer is an amazing item if you and your ADC are ahead and won lane. Otherwise, I'd get more defensive healey/shieldy stuff and save Ardent for later (or not at all if it can't fit in your build).
Like the guide, though! +1
