Hey! I'm Whobick-Old In-Game (New In-Game is MuLTiKaiSeR}. I currently have Mastery 5 for Pantheon and 50K Mastery Points. Pantheon was my main in pre-season 6 and right now, and I play him in many different positions. I focus on top lane champs, trying to master them all! The first champ I ever bought was Volibear. After that was Tryndamere, then Jax, and now my favorite, Pantheon! In my opinion, Pantheon is the best top lane champion, if you know how to play him! I wrote this guide and started at 4:34 PM on 1/14/16, and worked for 4 hours, finishing at 8:20 PM on 1/14/16! Lore


Far above the clouds on Mount Targon resides a stalwart tribe of people known as the Rakkor who still revere combat and war as ultimate artforms. They remember the Rune Wars of Runeterra and know that the League of Legends can only repress the rising tides of violence for so long. Each member of the tribe is bred to be a disciplined and vicious warrior, preferring to battle soldiers of either the Noxian or Demacian armies only when outnumbered at least ten to one. Rakkor warriors are trained not only to be as lethal with their bare hands as the most capable martial artists, but also to fiercely wield the many relic-weapons of the tribe. Such treasures have been handed down from generation to generation, and have harnessed the mystical nature of Runeterra in their very cores. These relic-weapons are among the most dangerous in existence - and it comes as no surprise that they have found their way to the League of Legends in the hands of Pantheon.

This stone-faced warrior is a paragon of his people, his very existence an anthem of exultation to the art of combat. Pantheon found it insulting that the people of Valoran would install an organization to replace war, complete with so-called champions, without including the Rakkor. Gathering the blessings of his tribe and armed with the relics of his ancestors, he has descended on the League to show the world a true warrior. He cares not who he fights, and cares nothing for the pageantry or prestige of a League champion, but lives only for the austere glory of battle. As long as Pantheon breathes, he thirsts for another foe to vanquish.

Pros:


-Outstanding damage. He will pound you into the ground so hard Rammus's tremors'll feel like mere vibrations.

-Great Anti-Carry. He will kill their carry. This is undisputed. (Just kidding, but he's a damn good carry killer)

-Gamebreaking and amazing late game! You can pretty much 1 shot anyone, unless they are unbelievably tanky



Cons:


-Only has 1 gap closer. Pantheon's only gap closer is Aegis of Zeonia (W). This is helpful of course, but it only stuns for 1 second know matter what level it is and just isn't as good as I wish it was.

-Hard to hit ult. Pantheon's ult is extremely hard to time and get used to, and missing it can result in a lost team fight.

- Pantheon's Heartseeker Strike (E) has to channel, which allows it to be interrupted. This stinks because you could be mid E when someone stuns you.

Flash

I use Flash to either catch enemies, commit to a fight, or to run. This can be used to catch someone by flashing through or towards them, then using Aegis of Zeonia (W) to jump and stun them, then use Heartseeker Strike (E) and Spear Shot (Q) to do extreme damage. Flash is pretty much a "always get no matter what" type spell. The reason I decide to get Flash over Teleport is because at 6, we pretty much has a across map teleport with Grand Skyfall. I have never truly had a problem with losing lane since people can't really push hard until 6.





Ignite

Ignite helps us face those pesky lifesteal enemies such as Darius, Aatrox and Olaf. I use Ignite to secure a kill, kill an enemy quicker, and I can usually Spear Shot (Q) and Ignite under turret to secure a kill. Chose what you'd like, but I suggest Ignite!

Youmuu's Ghostblade

I always get Youmuu's Ghostblade first. I know that every guide tells you to buy Black Cleaver first, but trust me on this one. In the 6.1 some items got a lot better then others!!! This gives us some great attack damage, while giving us a boost of speed when chasing down enemies. This also helps up with tank champions top lane since we get some armor penetration too!





Death's Dance

Death's Dance just got freaking amazing. Thank you Riot in 6.1!!!! Now we get +75 Attack Damage, a 15% Bleed rather then 12%, and it now heals for 15% percent of the damage dealt! This item is amazing on Pantheon because the attack damage helps with Spear Shot (Q) along with our other abilities, the heal allows us to sustain in lane or heal back after team fights, and the bleed allows us to dive enemies and take damage over time while healing back! Great item and I always get it 2nd.





Maw of Malmortius

We have already covered armor penetration so we can deal with those tanks. Now we need some magic resist so we can gank most mid lanes and not get ****ed over. I usually get Maw of Malmortius 3rd because at this time, the AP champions are usually getting strong, and Lifeline passive helps us stay alive. Not only that but the attack damage helps us and again, the armor penetration helps us out even more. I love this item on Pantheon and that is why I get it 3rd. Some people decide to get Black Cleaver over this item but I buy this instead so I don't have to focus on magic resist later.





Dead Man's Plate

This item is so good right now. Dead Man's Plate is probably the best item for tanks currently, but also helps us because we need some health, but also some speed! Get this item 4th, because around this time, most tanks get good, so we need to be able to out tank the tanks and out tank people like us. Love this item!!!





The rest of your build should depend on what the other team consists of. Many builds tell you exactly what to build, and most people follow that to a "T". This is why so many people don't do well with certain builds. You have to build according to what the other team consists of to be successful. Building magic resist against AP champions and health and armor against AD champions can win you games. Be smart and don't be afraid to buy an item you think may or may not work just to try it!

Ability Sequence

I max Spear Shot (Q) first. Always. This is Pantheon's best ability early and mid game because it allows him to poke effectively against 90% of top laners, while also being able to farm. It has a much smaller cooldown compared to other abilities similar (Such as Olaf's Undertow) and does an extreme amount of damage for little mana cost. Spear Shot (Q) is also amazing because it will critical hit, dealing sometimes late game up to 1500 damage. This is amazing, and allows us to last hit effectively without enemies getting away with very little health. The next ability is Aegis of Zeonia (W) and it is a great gap closer. Yes, no skill shot require! Just click and stun the champion for 1 second, allowing us to use Heartseeker Strike (E) after. I scale this last because the stun doesn't increase, only the AP (which we are not building) and the cooldown. Heartseeker Strike (E) is next on the list. I max this second because it does around 318 damage to champions +120% AD! This does a huge amount of damage, and it can affect multiple champions at the same time. This also allows us to farm easily mid to late game. Our last and most amazing ability is Grand Skyfall (R). Grand Skyfall (R) is probably the best teleporting ultimate in the game. This allows us to be un-targetable after a moment of channeling! Then it allows us to smash down into a huge area (about the size of a whole lane!) and do extreme AP damage while slowing enemies too! This ability is great for team fights, so I would max it whenever you can! These abilities combines make Pantheon unstoppable, and that is why he is such a good champion for players of all skill!



Aegis Protection (Passive)
After applying 4 basic attacks or abilities, Pantheon blocks the next incoming basic attack from an enemy champion, large minion, large monster or turret.



Spear Shot (Q)
RANGE: 600 COST: 45 COOLDOWN: 4

Active: Pantheon hurls his spear at the target enemy, dealing them physical damage.

Physical Damage: 65 / 105 / 145 / 185 / 225 (+ 140% bonus AD)



Aegis of Zeonia (W)
RANGE: 600 COST: 55 COOLDOWN: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9

Active: Pantheon dashes to the target enemy, dealing them magic damage, stunning them for 1 second and refreshing Aegis Protection.

Magic Damage: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 100% AP)



Heartseeker Strike (E)
RANGE: 600 COST: 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 COOLDOWN: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6

Certain Death - Passive: Pantheon critically strikes all enemies below 15% of their maximum health with his basic attacks and Spear Shot.

Active: Pantheon channels for 0.75 seconds, dealing physical damage to all enemies in a cone in front of him at 0.25-second intervals, doubled against enemy champions.

Physical Damage Per Strike: 13 / 23 / 33 / 43 / 53 (+ 60% bonus AD)
Champion Damage Per Strike: 26 / 46 / 66 / 86 / 106 (+ 120% bonus AD)



Grand Skyfall (R)
RANGE: 5500 / 700 COST: 125 COOLDOWN: 150 / 135 / 120

Active: Pantheon begins channeling for 2 seconds and, upon completing the channel, leaps into the air and becomes un-targetable. He then blinks to the target location and plummets down, striking after 1.5 seconds and becoming targetable once more.

Enemies within the impact zone take magic damage, increased by up to 100% based on their proximity to the epicenter, and are slowed by 35% for 1 second.

If the channel is cancelled, Grand Skyfall is put on a 10-second cooldown

Minimum Magic Damage: 200 / 350 / 500 (+ 50% AP)

To Farm or not to Farm. My favorite quote from Hamlet, at least I think that is how it went. Bu seriously, this question always gets me. I was always asked this on my other guide, so I want to make it clear. Farm, Farm, Farm. Riot gave you this great thing called Spear Shot (Q) which allows you to last hit minions you are about to miss, or to poke champions while you farm. They also game you this great passive on Heartseeker Strike (E), allowing you to last hit minions extremely easily because you critical hit them when they are at low health. I wouldn’t suggest using Aegis of Zeonia (W) or Heartseeker Strike (E) until late game, where you have enough mana and can actually 1 hit all the minions with the abilities. Just don’t forget to farm!

Pantheon’s abilities are simply amazing. Simple but effective is what I say. Just thank the Riot Gods for giving us a click and stun ability, long range poke, auto-attack blocker, a huge ranged ult that actually deals damage (unlike Shen and Twisted Fate), and a huge cone of damage. Let’s start with Spear Shot (Q). This ***********er is our savior. Early game poke, mid game insta-kill, late game trade. We always start with this ability, allowing us to poke, last hit minions we are about to miss, and pretty much annoy the hell out of our opponent. If you get fed, this can 2 shot carries. I love the 4 seconds cooldown which is reduced with the cdr items we get, allowing us to get champions down to half health with 3-4. Use Spear Shot (Q) to poke, last hit, and everything in between. A great way to use this is against Heimerdinger. You can use this to hit his turrets, which is quite nice.




In this section, I will be pairing Pantheon’s passive, Aegis Protection, and Pantheon’s W, Aegis of Zeonia. The reason I do this, is because 1st, they have the similar names….. jk jk, but seriously, these 2 abilities feed off of one another. I love seeing people rage because I get 2 auto-attack blocks within seconds of fighting! NEVER USE Aegis of Zeonia (W) BEFORE USING YOUR PASSIVE! I hate seeing people do this. Aegis of Zeonia (W) refreshes your passive, so go into a fight with Spear Shot (Q), then get an auto-attack off while they auto-attack you, blocking the damage with Aegis Protection (Passive), then use Aegis of Zeonia (W) on them, stunning them and refreshing Aegis Protection (Passive). The 1 second stun allows you to get Heartseeker Strike (E) off, then Spear Shot (Q), and block another auto-attack. At this point you have probably taken out half of their health, and they are scared and regret challenging you, the beast. Simply repeat and you pretty much made then DC, or they will claim that excuse! Aegis Protection (PASSIVE) BLOCKS TURRET SHOTS, SO DON’T BE AFRAID TO DIVE TURRET, OR TAKE A SHOT TO TRADE WITH Spear Shot (Q).




If I haven’t already gotten your panties wet, this might make it into an ocean. Let us start with the passive of Heartseeker Strike (E). “Pantheon critically strikes all enemies below 15% of their maximum health with his basic attacks and… AND… AAANNDDDDD Spear Shot (Q). Now please don’t tell your mom to get the camera. I love seeing kids rage at level 3 when I critical hit them when they die! I instantly go from thinking I am Bronze III to Challenger I. This gives us a perfect execute. Use this to last hit minions easily, but also to last hit champions on the run. Now to talk about Heartseeker Strike (E). This ability is used after Aegis of Zeonia (W). It channels for 0.75 seconds (Which Aegis of Zeonia has a 1 second stun) so this allows us to get all the damage off before the enemy is able to attack us again. The great part about this ability is that it is in a cone, which is great for team fights. Don’t be fooled thinking that it only does a max of 53 damage (+ 60 bonus AD) per strike (3 strikes). No, read between the lines; Heartseeker Strike (E) deals 106 damage (+ 120% AD) per strike (3 strikes) to enemy champions. Use this to farm minions late game.



Grand Skyfall (R) is the best of all teleporting ultimates. I love seeing people dumbfounded when they check a bush I just run into, try to auto-attack me, and watch me fly away to a random jungle location. I use this all the time to escape, but to also gank and surprise others. This is the key ability to use during a team fight, but make sure to think ahead and time the location correctly . This obviously takes practice, but after 2-3 games, it will be pretty easy to do. Use this effectively, and use it when it is up after 6 to gank lanes constantly. Don’t forget that you can ult into turret range since your passive blocks 1 turret shot, and if you use Aegis of Zeonia (W), then it will block another.

Pantheon’s goal is to destroy the carry, but to also crowd control. Let me explain…

Don’t just run into a team fight. This would be a huge waste of your kit. Almost every time I go into a fight, I always engage with Grand Skyfall (R). I always try to start the team fight as well. I spam ping where I plan on ulting, letting my teammates know that they should engage as I am falling down, resulting in the enemy team diving them, allowing me to get the 750 magic damage off with my ult, while also slowing all of the targets within the ult radius. I then aim for the biggest threat, usually being the ADC, and use Aegis of Zeonia (W) to stun them, then use Heartseeker Strike (E) and finish them off with Spear Shot (Q). It is your goal to stun the biggest threat on the enemy team, allowing your team to dive that person, having an advantage during the fight. One thing that I strongly suggest is adding a Character Lock Key when using Aegis of Zeonia (W). This makes it so you don’t accidentally hit a minion (like I have many times before) and is a fallback when you are afraid you might not hit your cursor directly over them.
