+1 nice guide. My only criticism is that you are missing vayne from the champ synergy list. Her true damage proc shreds through squishies and tanks alike with onhit build. Her ult gives her a flat ad, which works extremely well with AS. Also potential stun is nothing to ignore. |

Love how you trolled with the skill sequence, but you may get a couple of downvotes from trollers from that.

Quoted:
These are used instead of Berserker's Greaves when a champion has too much magical damage and an ability that boosts his AS, in order to boost his overall damage.
I'm not any kind of semantics expert, but "too much" sounds like negative feature. Like in sententce: "when you have too much magic damage and want to deal mixed type, focus on getting physical damage rather than more magic" So i'd better see here "These are used (...) when a champion has pretty high magic damage" just sayin'. To the guide's content: When I saw it, I was like "whoa, that's a very good topic, let's have a look". after reading few sections my excitement faded a bit. You are right at everything, but... ...this topic requires more effort to be taken, it's one of those that have a lot of controversion. Current meta is when ranged AD carry is to kill enemies, while covered by their team. It's like precious prima donna that demands support, tanking, positioning, a lot of skill. And when he dies, pretty much entire team's damage becomes shut down. Offtanks counter current meta very well, as they are very powerful at raping squishies apart. They have enough damage to win 1v1 situation with caught carry, while beefy enough to bare all the punishment from the support, tanking, and all other things protecting the target. In such a case, on-hit builds are pretty much more efficent. On-hit builds are extremly cost efficent, You loose a little bit of damage vs squishies, but You get whole way more damage against tanky targets. If your team consists of champions capable of killing squishies fast (all alistars AP, jarvans, akalis, talons) and it's not up to you to do that job, then you can freely go for on-hit build. Also it's good in case enemy team has similar setup to the one I mentionet. This is because you will face a lot of contestors, with CC, gapclosers, and huge 1v1 potential. Also if you aren't so well covered by your team, which is for example more focused on killing and ambushing rather than protecting you. In such a case on-hit build is perfect due to its cost efficency (with same amount of gold, you have "more" so you can beat them) and overall great ballance between damage, attackspeed and defense. This is main reason to go for on-hit builds on ranged champions. Best champions to take such builds are also the ones, that have already some form of AS buff or on-hits on their own. Those are best at it. For melees, on hit builds are usually best option, mainly for damage/survivability ballance. If you, say, build That's the case - on-hit effects are very powerful if you need 1-2 damage items, rather than huge set of offensive things. Total cost: 8965 Total benefit: 120 AD 55 AS 55 Crit Chance (+55% to average damage effectivness) 50 Crit Damage (+25% to average crit effectivness) 40% Penetration (+15% to damage effectivness against 50 armor target, +25% against 100 armor target, +30% against 150 armor target, +40% against 250 armor target) Total average DPS: 410 vs 100 armor squishies, 460 vs 250 armor tanks For that gold you can buy Total cost: 9565 Total benefit: +58 AD +42 magic damage +4% target's HP as magic damage (60 vs 1500 HP, 80 vs 2000 HP, 100 vs 2500 HP, 120 vs 3000 HP) +110 magic damage each 4 hits (average damage: 27,5 each hit) +130 AS +25 armor +30 m.res. (+50 after 4 attacks) +475 HP +25% chance for slow Total average DPS: 430 vs 1500 HP target, 477 vs 2000 HP, 570 vs 3000 HP. On-hit doesn't only have more damage, but also prvovides survivability, utility, mixed damage (harder to protect vs you). The downside is that against targets with less than 100 armor (who, in competetive gaming has such?) or targets with less than 2000 HP (who, in competetive gaming has such) it looses to pure AD build. Also it doesn't fit the stupid meta-religion very well, and it requires more slots spent. Last thing is that you can't go more offensive than this with on-hits, while pure AD can alwas spam And we all know, that in case full damage fights ballanced damage/defense, ballanced wins. Always. So to be short (god, i always write such a huge comments) on-hits are better for independant, 1v1, damage/survi. ballanced, already having own on-hit and AS skills champions. You should really put thatlike informations in your guide. +1, Glizdka Left this sad game...

Everybody, one day will die, and be forgotten. Act and behave in a way that will make life interesting and fun, f*ck a mundane predictable life working monday to friday with something you derive no pleasure from; just living life out till you grow old and wither away. Find a passion, form relationships, dont be afraid to get out there and f*ck what everyone else thinks.

This is a very solid resource to enlighten others about the effectiveness of on-hit type builds, something that has been falling through in competitive play. Your explanations of the relevant items and effective champions is top notch, with a few areas for improvement but not much. Another great guide, I'd expect nothing less from you, well done, and thanks for the link.
