Introduction

Welcome to this strategy guide for Heimerdinger: "A tank with tanks". This guide will help you convert Heimerdinger, a usually squishy champion, to a "durable to attacks" champion, so that while they hit you, your turrets will take the kill for you.

Runes

For runes I take the ones you see, as they back me up for Ability Power, especially for the early game , and Armor, which makes you durable on the top lane, where usally Attack Damage thrives.

Masteries

In the Masteries, I take full AP in Offence, Magic Resistance and a little Armor (as runes back me up), and Mana and Health Regeneration in Utility.

How to play - Early Game

In the early game, place your turrets before the minions come. No enemy champion will attempt to approach you that time as long as you are near the turret. If they try to kill your turrets, start attacking them. Keep farming at all times, and leave the lanes rarely.

Killing strategy

By level 6, when you have your ulti, keep at least one normal turret in stash. A nice way to grab a kill is to bait somebody near you. When you start recieving damage, place the small turret(s), then the big turret and, if he runs, keep hitting him with basic attacks, but if he stays, run around your turrets, until he has low live. Also, stun him with your grenade.

How to play - Bad moments

In case you get in a tough situation, keep Barrier in mind and use it before the fatal damge, or run away quckly with Ghost. I don't recommend flash, as flashing away turns off your turrets and reduce your possibilities for a nice kill.

How to play - Later game

When you get the Locket of the Iron Solari, stick to your team. Be the "tank with tanks", man! As long as you have a teammate with you, do not fear a thing (excect if thing are too harsh, so stay defensive). You can take the dragon quite easily any time and with a teammate or two you can go get Baron. In case you are alone, keep in mind that trick ojn the other chapter. Don't let him take out your turrets first, so recieve the damage and use all your abilities on him.
