Hey, I'm SilverSilver and this is my guide for Aatrox, the Darkin Blade. A quick note is that this is not a full tank top-lane build, but is focused on both damage and some tankiness for carrying the game. While others prefer to build him full or mainly tank, this is the way I play him. Enjoy and get fed :)

Pros

Insane damage and lifesteal if you can get close enough to combo.

Good gap-closer or escape ability with his Q.

A decent slow.

Massive attack speed steroid with his ultimate.

Gains attack speed through passive.

Cons

If you build him glass cannon you will be destroyed in teamfights.

CC counters Aatrox hard.

If you're blood well is empty your attack speed is extremely low as to when it is full.

Who you get matched up against in lane can make or break Aatrox's game if you don't play him to his full ability. Any sort of CC will counter him massively along with ranged poke, an prime example of an Aatrox counter is Pantheon. His CC stun, ranged spear poke and burst can burn through Aatrox's health even with his lifesteal. If you're matched up against a champion like him, try to farm when their cooldowns are up or see if you can shut them down fast.
