Hello. This is my first guide on Mobafire, so any feedback is appreciated. Graves is a ranged AD carry with a crazy strong early game. He does so much damage in lane, and his passive is just insane. He can easily beat most ADCs in lane and can waveclear really well. Enjoy! (Keep in mind that this is a WORK IN PROGRESS. It is not yet finished.)
Barrier is great because you can avoid death very easily. It gives you a shield for 95 + 20
times your level. That means at level 18, you have a shield for 455 damage. Very strong spell in my opinion.
Flash can do anything. It's an escape, a gap closer, a reposition, and a way over obstacles. Flash is a must have on a lot of champions, and Graves is no exception.
Ignite can be used as a replacement for Barrier. It is a great way to finish a kill, or reduce healing. I personally don't take it because I like the defense from Barrier, but it's still a great spell.
These are pretty much the only viable boots on AD carries. They give strong attack speed for the price, and you need boots. All-in-all a must have item.
Definitely the best first item on Graves. It gives him so much damage, which he needs because of his incredible AD scaling. Also, it gives a lot of lifesteal. You can get even more damage and lifesteal with lasthits. One of the best items in the game and a great rush for Graves
Phantom Dancer is a great item in general. It gives tons of attack speed (50%) and critical strike (30%). Also, that movement speed can't hurt. It also goes well with the Infinity Edge you get later on.
Last Whisper gives a decent amount of attack damage, but the armor pen is just a force to be reckoned with. Any champion with this gets to ignore 35% of your armor with physical damage, and Graves does a lot of physical damage.
Infinity Edge is an item with high damage and great crit chance. But that isn't the only reason it's so good on AD carries. It gives 250% damage on crits, instead of 200%. That, stacking with the 30% crit chance from [[Phantom Dancer can do so much damage.
One of the three defensive items. It gives decent armor and magic resist, and stops you from dieing. It's a great item for Graves, but the other defensive items can pass it up sometimes.
Gives magic resist and health, plus a decent spell sheild. Not a bad item. Better in situations where you are taking damage from singular AP bursts. Also you can troll that Requiem.
This item gives 60 AD, and some magic resist. The strong part about this item is that it is made of Quicksilver Sash, which means it has an active that removes all forms of crowd control on you. Great if you are getting stunlocked.
