Does manamune active affects Voidlings damage?

Have you noticed that the bonus damage from manamunes passive: awe does not carry over to the voidlings?

I know this hasn't been updating for Season 4 but I do believe I got the best runes and masteries for AD malzahar, also getting a Frozen Mallet optimizes his damage with the voidlings since it makes it easier for them to keep up as well as keep you alive even longer meaning your voildings will be able to do more damage

I find your guide quite interesting, I hope you have the time for updates on the Fourth Season and also, Morgana has become a quite commom support, what do you think of her and Malzahar in bot lane?

This build is really good! I've been winning every game since. But I suggest that you add some defense like Warmog's Armor or Frozen Mallet.

Actually, voidlings do increase in power with your bonus ad (but this isn't stated in game) they also proc Black Cleaver and Spirit of the Elder Lizard.

You can check the lolwiki for clarification: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Malzahar/Ability_Details

Who knew? Just wait till you have the sparklies under you signifying that a voidling is going to be cast next and use it like Annie's stun. I got most kills on my first and second tries with this. GG.

Really great guide man and it's nice to see that you are updating it atm! I also started playing AD Malz about a halfyear ago and it's suprisingly effective in my opinion :)
I agree with the majority of your guide but I have a few suggestions for you because of my experience with him.

[*] First of all, I agree with your rune setup but I have two alternatives for your Marks and Quints. For Marks, I use Greater Mark of Hybrid Penetration, because AD Malz is not focussed primarily on AA's. Especially in the early game, your spells hurt a lot and the extra Armor Pen from the Greater Mark of Armor Penetration isn't necessarily needed. A bit more Mpen to increase your spell damage worked very well for me!
As for Quints, I use 3x Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed, because Malzahar is especially vulnerable to high-mobile champions. These Quints give you the extra mobility to get away, or faster into the action.

[*] Second, I use some different items. I start with a Long Sword + 2 Health Potion, because the Sword can build out in other items, while the Doran's can't. I'll try to control the lane and then go back to get my Tear of the Goddess, a Doran's Blade and Boots. The first major item I get is Spirit of the Elder Lizard. Why, you may ask? Well, Malzahar is an extremely good pusher when he has 1 or 2 Voidlings up and the Spirit increases your damage, you get CDR, HP/Mana Regen and extra damage to minions which helps you get those towers faster and those are all stats Malzahar can use effectively. Then it depends on the flow of the game. If you need extra sustain, get Bilgewater Cutlass. If you can handle it, get the The Brutalizer first. Finish Manamune after that and than get Black Cleaver, because it's passive synergizes very well with your Voidling's attacks and is more cost-effective in my opinion than a Last Whisper for Malzahar.
Because Malzahar is still doing some nice damage with his spells, I prefer Hextech Gunblade instead of the Bloodthirster. It gives you sustain because of it's lifesteal (AA's) and Spell Vamp (your spells) and it gives you AD and AP which you both benefit from. Also the slow is very useful in a chase or when you have to escape your enemies.
The rest of your items are quite the same as I build most of the time :)

Hopefully you can use some of my suggestions! I'm still trying to fabricate a perfect build for him but this works very well in my games!

Thx for the feedback :)

@Rune Suggestions: I agree with you that Hybrid Penetration usually is a lot stronger, at least in terms of early game damage. But there is a reason I don't use them and it's because I try to focus on mostly the Voidling damage and partly Malzahar's auto attack damage in this guide. I also tend to pick Hybrid penetration marks (and sometimes even quints) when I play hybrid Malzahar or even AP Malzahar since in those situations I try to optimize my magic damage way more. Hybrid Pen runes are good choices but I don't mention them because this guide is more about trying to optimize Voidling damage and still keeping up good survive ability.

I totally agree with you that the movement speed quints are a strong choice. Sometimes I take them and sometimes I don't. It's more of a personal preference. In certain situations Armor pen quints would be better and other times more movement speed would. I will start to use these some more on Malzahar to see just how much impact they can do against certain champions.

@Item Choices: Spirit of the Elder Lizard's passive "Butcher" damage doesn't apply on minions, it only applies to jungle monsters. This item is nice on jungle Malzahar but I don't think it is as strong in lane after all the nerfs. The true damage dot only applies to your Call of the Void and auto attacks so the passive doesn't come in to effect that often. It's still a pretty good item in terms of statistics (10% cdr, 35 AD, 7 Mana Reg per 5 sec) and it's cheap (2000 g). If playing Malzahar in a different lane I would consider getting it more often since it's a good budget item. But since I hence this guide usually play him bot lane then we would lack an ADC and ADC's usually don't go for budget items unless they get behind. It's not a bad item it's just that there are some strong choices in terms of damage output.

Hextech Gunblade is not a bad item either but I don't prefer it unless I'm opting for playing hybrid Malzahar. The sustain is a bit more nice than a Bloodthirster since you can heal of your spells as you mentioned. The active slow is also very nice but I still prefer Bloodthirster since it grants a lot more AD compared to Hextech Gunblade. On hybrid Malzahar then Hextech Gunblade is one of the better items if you need sustain and grants nice chase/escape tool.

Thx for the comment though :). I too enjoy playing Hybrid Malzahar because I feel it's the way you build him. I just don't want this guide to be an Hybrid guide so I try to stick to as many pure AD items as possible. By the way, non of the suggestions were bad, they are just not optimal for ADC Malzahar in my opinion (apart from MS quints).
