Introduction

Hello everyone, I'm DoomGlad, and this is my first guide on Mobafire which will be about AD Miss Fortune. I worked long and hard on this guide and will be updating it so I will appreciate all feedback that you provide to me.
Miss Fortune is a very strong AD Carry and one of my favorite AD Carries in League of Legends. Miss Fortune has high dueling, poking, and team fighting capability due to her kit. Miss Fortune is well known for her ult, Bullet Time, which is very strong with AoE team compositions and synergies very well with Amumu's Curse of the Sad Mummy and Jarvan IV's Cataclysm. Miss Fortune is also a very strong AD Carry because of her excellent early game, mid game, and late game.

Without any further delay, I present you my AD Miss Fortune guide. I put much effort and time into this guide so I please recommend you to reconsider any downvotes. And last, I thank you for reading my AD Miss Fortune guide.

Pros and Cons

Pros

+ Passive gives large amount of movement speed
+ Wins trades easily
+ Attack speed steroid
+ Healing De-Buff
+ Strong AoE Ultimate
+ AoE Slow
Miss Fortune is a great pick in ranked solo queue. Even though she doesn't have an escape tool, she can run away from ganks easily with Strut and Make it Rain. Miss Fortune can duel very easily with other AD Carries because of Impure Shots which also kills healing supports like Sona. When considering playing Miss Fortune, consider all she brings to the team. AoE Slow, AoE high damage output, long ranged poke and a healing de-buff.
Pros

- Relatively Short Attack Range
- Passive is countered by taking damage
- Cannot move while using Bullet Time
- No means of escape or re-positioning quickly
- Bullet Time falls off late game
All champions have their strengths and weaknesses though, compared to other AD Carries like Caitlyn and Tristana, Miss Fortune's late game can be considered worse then many AD Carries due to her ultimate. It can be interrupted with just a simple form of cc, most people can walk out of your ult or Flash out of it, it has a cast time, and the damage falls off considerably. Also, most AD Carries are crit-based, but Miss Fortune isn't. This makes it hard when AD Carries are dealing 600+ damage each hit. That's an insane damage output that Miss Fortune just can't compete with late game.

Runes

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

I prefer taking Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage and Greater Mark of Attack Damage because with Miss Fortune I go aggressive early on and this rune setup helps you cs and win trades which is a big factor for the AD Carry. If you prefer life steal and some extra sustain and you are able to last hit well, you can take Greater Quintessence of Life Steal instead of AD Quints. Greater Seal of Armor is standard for AD Carries because it allows you to trade better with the enemy AD Carry and will make more durable against the enemy bruisers. Greater Glyph of Magic Resist are helpful against taking enemy supports harass that are AP like Zyra, Sona, Leona, Corki, and Soraka.

Summoner Spells

Flash is the summoner spell you will always have on Miss Fortune. She has no gap closer or an escape tool so Flash is a must have. When you have the mastery, Summoner's Insight , the cool down will be reduced by 15 seconds down to a 285 second cool down which can be the difference between your death and your escape.
Barrier is very helpful in cases when you're against a heavy burst team or it helps in general with 2 v 2 skirmishes in lane. When you have the mastery, Summoner's Resolve the barrier size will increase by 20 which can be the difference between life and death.
Ignite is very helpful to secure those kills but is sacrificing a lot of defense for offense. If you're planning on taking ignite I would recommend taking 1 point out of Fury and put it into Summoner's Wrath to get that extra 5 AP and AD when ignite is on cool down.
Cleanse is the most useful when you are against a heavy crowd-control(Meaning lots of stuns, slows, silences, and snares) team. It can be even used to cleanse the enemy support's exhaust. Cleanse clears all disables on you and reduces the duration of disables on you by 65% for 3 seconds and with the mastery, Summoner's Resolve that increases to an incredible 4 seconds!

Champion Abilities

Strut is Miss Fortune's Passive. Strut gives Miss Fortune a movement speed buff that increases over a couple of seconds. This allows you to roam easier and allows Miss Fortune to buy Boots much later then other AD Carries.

Double Up is your strong harassing tool that deals heavy damage early to mid game. Both shots also apply on-hit effects like life steal but it cannot critical strike.

Impure Shots is what makes Miss Fortune such an excellent trader in lane. It gives her increased attack speed, and increased on-hit damage, and a healing debuff which helps against those pesky healers like Sona, and Soraka or enemy AD Carry life steal.

Make it Rain is an AoE slow with average damage. It isn't much use too AD Miss Fortune because it scales off of AP. Make it Rain gives vision into brushes if an enemy is standing in one.

Bullet Time is Miss Fortune's signature move. It is an AoE high damage dealing ultimate used for taking over team fights. Bullet Time can also be used for farming or clearing minion waves. Make sure to use your ultimate when your enemies are bunched up so ensure maximum damage.

Double Up Mechanics

There are 2 zones that Double Up will bounce to. The red zone is the danger zone which is located 70 degress directly behind her target. The yellow zone is a 180 degree arc. Double Up will prioritize it's bounce into the red zone but if no targets are in the red zone, it will bounce into one of the targets in the yellow zone.
Right here, Gangplank will be hit by Double Up because he is in the red zone.
Gangplank will still be hit by Double Up because there are no other targets in the danger zone or the yellow zone to be hit.
Right here, the minion will be hit instead of Gangplank because the minion is in the danger zone. This is what you want to avoid because using Double Up in this situation will result in a complete waste.

Items

Item Sequence

Bloodthirster 3400
Phantom Dancer 2800
Last Whisper 1450
Black Cleaver 3000
Frozen Mallet 3100

For Miss Fortune I usually run a mix of damage and armor penetration with an attack speed item to let me deal constant, sustained damage if my ultimate, Bullet Time, gets cancelled.

I normally start out with a Doran's Blade or a Long Sword and 2 Health Potion's. This builds straight into a Vampiric Scepter. After that I pick up Berserker's Greaves. Once I have those items finished, I buy Bloodthirster which gives me much needed life steal and damage which synergies with Bullet Time and Double Up. After I have completed Bloodthirster, I buy a The Brutalizer which gives me armor penetration to dominate those earlier team fights. After my The Brutalizer I buy a Phantom Dancer which gives me attack speed and critical strike which allows me to deal constant damage if Bullet Time gets cancelled. Once I have my completed Phantom Dancer I buy a Last Whisper which gives me a ton of armor penetration which allows me to shred everything with Bullet Time. Last Whisper also allows me to kill those pesky bruisers trying to kill me easier. After my completed Bloodthirster, Phantom Dancer, and Last Whisper, I upgrade my The Brutalizer into Black Cleaver which allows me to shred all the armor off of the enemy team and will help my teammates or my AD mid Kha'Zix or Zed kill the enemy easier. After these core items are finished, my last item usually consists of a defensive item. If there is lots of AD on the enemy team, I usually choose between Randuin's Omen, Thornmail, or Guardian Angel. If there is lots of AP on the enemy team I choose between, Mercurial Scimitar, Banshee's Veil, and Warmog's Armor. If there is an even amount of AD and AP then a Frozen Mallet shall suffice as it provides a tremendous amount of health and a constant slow every basic attack which allows for easy kiting.

Enchantments

I usually prefer to enchant my boots later into the game when I feel the time is right. I choose between furor, alacrity, and homeguard. Furor is good for chasing your enemies because it provides a movement speed boost every time you hit an enemy with one of your skills or auto-attacks. This is especially great for kiting as well because every time you go back to auto your opponent you gain a movement speed boost.
Homeguard is great for allowing you to defend your base or returning to lane quicker because it gives 100% health and mana when you reach your base and it gives a extremely high movement speed bonus which stacks with Miss Fortune's Strut.

Gameplay

Laning

With Miss Fortune you want to make sure you last hit because getting farm is essential on Miss Fortune in order to snowball and carry your team. If you are a beginner or new to playing AD Carry, you should focus on your farm with Miss Fortune to become a better Miss Fortune player.

Good Supports with Miss Fortune

I feel that Sona is a very strong support with Miss Fortune. Sona can add on to your already strong poke and can single-handedly zone the enemy AD Carry and support. Her ultimate, Crescendo, works very well with Bullet Time because it can lock up the enemy AD Carry and support into your ultimate.

Janna is a strong support with almost any ad carry especially Miss Fortune. Her Howling Gale makes for Miss Fortune's lack of an escape tool. Janna's Eye of the Storm makes your trading even stronger as it adds a very strong shield and an immense AD boost which adds up to a B. F. Sword at max rank.

Leona is a very strong support if you are planning on going aggressive and snagging those early kills. At level 6, if the Leona manages to land a good Solar Flare you can combine that with Miss Fortune's Bullet Time for some very high damage output and possibly some easy kills.

Same case as Leona but Blitzcrank support relies all on those Rocket Grabs.

Right now, Thresh is a very strong support all-round. His Death Sentence is a strong hook but has an advantage over Rocket Grab because if the target is unfavorable to grab Thresh has the option to let them go. Thresh can also soak up harass with Dark Passage and it provides high mobility by allowing a friendly teammate to escape quickly or a friendly teammate to get into a fight quicker. Thresh's Flay allows for some high basic attack poke combined with Double Up and a few AAs. Thresh's Flay also allows him to hit the target towards or away from you which helps Miss Fortune to escape or secure those kills. Thresh's ultimate, The Box, is very good with Bullet Time because when a target hits one of the 5 sides, they are slowed by 99% for 2 seconds which makes it almost impossible to escape while you channel Bullet Time. Overall, I think Thresh is a safe pick in almost any situation.

Match-ups

Easy
Ezreal is a very favorable match-up for Miss Fortune. Your passive, Strut, should give you enough movement speed to dodge Mystic Shot and you also out-damage and out poke Ezreal with Double Up and Impure Shots. If the Ezreal has a sustain support like Soraka, make sure to harass him untill he is low health and don't let them heal by using your Impure Shots onto them.

Easy
Graves is a fairly easy match-up for Miss Fortune. Miss Fortune out-ranges Graves comepletely and has much better poke and trading then Graves. The only thing you have to worry about is when Graves has max stacks of True Grit as that makes him significantly more durable. Otherwise, you should be fine.

Easy
Vayne has a very weak laning phase so Miss Fortune does very well against her. Miss Fortune out-ranges, out-trades, and out-pokes, Vayne. Try to poke Vayne when she goes to last-hit a minion. Only thing you have to worry about is being Condemned into a wall or Vayne interrupting your ultimate with Condemn. With that taken into consideration, a Vayne vs Miss Fortune match-up should always be won by Miss Fortune.

Medium
Twitch vs Miss Fortune match-up is mostly skill and support reliant. You can use your strong early game to bully twitch out of lane and get the cs lead you need to win against Twitch. I personally think a Miss Fortune Sona lane will do very well against a Twitch. Your combined poke with Double Up and Hymn of Valor will bully twitch out of lane completely and you should be able to gain an advantage out of that.

Medium
This match-up is fairly even but there are some tricks to winning. If Caitlyn tries to farm behind creeps, poke her continuously with Double Up. If Caitlyn tries to trade with you, you should be able to win with Double Up and Impure Shots. Although, Caitlyn has an incredibly high range and poke you slightly from a far. Miss Fortune should still have a slight advantage.

Medium
Varus vs Miss Fortune is a fairly even lane and depends solely on the support and skill level. If you are playing Miss Fortune make sure to dodge his skill shots and it will reduce his damage output significantly.

Medium
This match-up changes throughout the game. Miss Fortune can definitely trade better with Tristana early on but as the game goes on, Tristana's range will be increased because of Draw a Bead. This means that Tristana will easily be able to poke you from a far with her basic attacks and Explosive Shot. The only chance you have here is to shut her down early because if you don't, Tristana will become a late game monster that will out scale you extremely hard.

Hard
Draven hits like a truck with his Spinning Axe and his Stand Aside interrupts Bullet Time. This all makes it challenging to win against a Draven but it is possible. I could talk on-end about how to win against a Draven but I thought a video would do much better with commentating. Scarra playing Miss Fortune Zyra vs Draven Taric The only thing you have to worry about is not 1v1ing Draven. Maybe the recent passive change might nerf his damage enough that you can.

Team fights

As any AD Carry, Miss Fortune should always be behind the tanks and attack the person closest to you. The thing which is essential and separates the good Miss Fortune players from the bad, is how you aim your ult, Bullet Time. When you aim Bullet Time you want to always make sure it hits the maximum amount of player possible to achieve maximum damage potential. The follow video shows excellent Miss Fortune Bullet Time's and how they can change a team fight completely.
