Akali, death comes from both sides

So many terrible Akali builds flooding this site lately. I don't even know were to begin. Trinity force is greatly inferior to Lichbane for Akali(just because it's recomended doesn't mean it's good). No Rylai's? Armor pen marks...really? Magic damage is where Akali's burst comes from why would you choose to use armor pen over magic pen? All other glyphs as ability power...Very low survivability early game with this build which leads me to...snowballs. 1/3 points in crit damage, drop that out for Improved Ignite, replace ghost with ignite, replace trinity force with lichbane, lose the snowballers and make Rylai's instead(it's incredible for akali's chasing ability). All in All you skip the 2 most essential items for akali and have a wonky rune set up. Play a couple matches using some other guides on here and I will wager you wont come back to this build.;)

Ahem ... where to begin ... since the last update, the Trinity Force has been boosted, damage from 130% to 150%. That's pretty noticeable in burst. Also, no rylai because i play an hybrid build and not an AP based build with a bit of AD. Armor pen marks is to supply to this hybrid build. With full stuff (mejai and occult maxed too), i have around 350 AD and AP. So finally, the Trinity is doing more damage. Also i dont feel the need of more survability as i have 2k9 HP with Red Elixir and as i kill my targets crazily fast. I have to agree with you that early game survability is pretty low, but you can manage to escape easily (and I'm playing 9/21/0 so I have more survability, but ppl usually prefer playing Akali with attack masteries). Snowballs, if you know how to play a hero properly, it's just heaven. If you don't, get other items. I'm doing very fine with it.
I prefer ghost than ignite but it might be a personnal preference (i'm a fan of ghost).
About runes, i just don't know what to buy yet, i have full red MagPen atm (from my Amumu rune build) and I'm kinda blocked for her.
And i played with every other guides on this site, none fits to me better than this one.
I can screenshot in my history if you want to see KDR's i do with that build, but its not a good proof. I advise you to try it yourself before saying it's bad ?


Just some maths about the Trinity/Lich Bane :

Trinity = +130% of AD ; Lich Bane = +100% of AP
Endgame AD : 320 ; Endgame AP : 310
=> 130% of AD = 1.30x320 = 416 ; 100% of AP = 1.00x310 = 310
Trinity adds me 106 damage over the Lich Bane. Now we'll consider the cooldowns.
Trinity = 2 secs CD ; Lich Bane = 3 secs CD
We consider it ticks as soon as it's up. Within 30 seconds, Trinity ticks 15 times and Lich Bane 10 times.
=> Trinity : 15x416 = 6240 ; Lich : 10x320 = 3200
In 30 seconds, the Trinity Force deals 3040 damage more than the Lich Bane. That's why I chose it over the AP one.
