get a Black Cleaver over the edge. Since you rarely have the need to crit on Akali it just seems like the more viable option

good point, i picked infinity edge over Bloodthirster because at the point in the game where you actually buy the infinity edge, people might aswell just slice you down when you try to stack up the damage.

I don't get the Infinity Edge, with only 33% Crit Chance it seems like a waste of gold, you could get two B.F. Swords for that price and have 20 more Attack Damage. IMO I'd prefer a Bloodthirster or even a Black Cleaver instead of Infinity Edge.
