Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Well no big lengthy explanation here, this is my version of building Akali, alot is similar, but none go in the same order I use, so here goes.
Runes are very subjective, either pick the set that gives you both masteries at lvl 1, or ignore that and get more magic pen. I've got nothing new to add here so just ignore these.
Kind of the same deal as Runes, everyone has their favorite ones and this build is more about the items than a full guide.
So here is the meat of this build, my item choices. Like I said in the intro, I made this build simply because no other akali guide I saw chose the same order as me, and the main difference being saving the hextech gunblade for last. So here's the breakdown.
Starting with Doran's blade and hextech revolver is nothing new. Spell vamp is amazing on Akali. You get your basic shoes after that, which later on you can build into whichever ones you think are best.
However at this point, I choose to buy a second hextech revolver, after the buff in the recent patch, just having two revolvers and Akali's passive makes you a spell vamp MACHINE, placing you already around 50% return from your skills. Sometimes I will opt for the giant's belt before the second revolver if I'm getting really focused or CC'd hard, though.
Next comes rushing that gunblade asap, and the main purpose for this is getting that amazing active spell. Akali is already an amazing burst damager, but throwing the gunblade into the mix at early levels? Really helps you melt just about anyone if you get your full combo off along with this, not to mention the extremely helpful slowing, very nice for before you finish the rylais.
After finishing your shoes, you get your sheen, and finish it into your choice of TF or LB, I've found either one to work pretty well, but generally prefer the TF for some attackspeed on towers.
At this point you have your Dorans and second revolver laying around ready to be replaced. You have a lot of options at this point, and are already dealing massive damage, so a few favorites are Deathcap, Mejais, or Guardian Angel. As for the revolver, If you have an ap heavy team I would really suggest finishing it into a WotA, otherwise you can sell and replace, or just go ahead and build another gunblade.
If you're going for double Gunblades
A very important note here, if you do decide to go for two gunblades: while the unique passive cannot be used on both blades, I came across a pleasant discovery the other day that should have been obvious. If you have one complete gunblade, and a cutlass soon-to-be second gunblade, you CAN use both, and between those two and rylais, no one should ever be able to escape you, so if you're considering double gunblade, grab that cutlass a bit earlier on and hold off on combining them until you really need to.
So that's about all there is to write here. a very short guide, but there's no need for me to restate things you already know from other guides, just give my item sequence a shot and up-vote if it works out for you. =)
