This all revolves around playstyle really. Akali is EXTREMELY difficult to play before she hits level 6. So you can swap out the occult or mejai's to get hextec revolver > gunblade if you aren't doing to well early on. A key thing I would say is to make sure you get shroud as your next skill at level 2. This is extremely important because that ability gives you alot of control over your lane. I've noticed that 9 times out of 10 people will just run away from you throwing it down (especially early game) giving you quick dominance over your lane allowing you to get the finishing blows and start racking up that gold. It also makes for great juking and adds alot of survivability to the character, you can use it to run into bushes, link bushes together for yourself, or just throw it in front of you if you're being pursued, and run right through it, slowing them and getting you back to your turret, or wherever else you need to be.

After you grab the dance, it becomes a tool of destruction. I almost always lay a shroud right after I dance, confusing them, slowing them. It works, people just stand there dumbfounded it seems while I peck at them in my shroud and just watch their health melt. By the time they realize that they are dying, they're already dead.

Never initiate group battles with Akali. You will die. Leave that to the tanks. Come in shortly after for cleanup. Your dance can save lives, and shroud can quickly scatter opponents. Leaving your team to just pick them off one by one.

They're more afraid of you than you might think, but don't get cocky. If you can get 20 charges on both items, well, it's discusting. I went 23 and 0 with that. It was a good time, been using this build ever since, and my win rate has shot up immensely. I did try other builds people have posted, and I wasn't fairing to well with them. This seems to me of a mix of what quite a bit of people think is good, and well, I win with this build, I'll vouch for it. If it doesn't work for you, at least you can narrow it down.

You really just have to remember that Akali is all about playstyle, and is fragile early game. Stay on your toes, harass with shroud and mark, and you should be good. Always back your team up, Akali is amazing at that. Don't get cocky, and don't start big fights.

You should win.
