Whats your reasoning behind not offering sheen as a valid early game item? I mean i understand if people are struggling in their lanes the sustain might be good but if you're even a little bit in control of your early game, a level 6 or 7ish sheen can be brutal.

I really love Akali so far, and this is a great build to follow. Tried lots of combos and since I usually play burst mages ( Annie Ahri etc..) this just works.

I do have a question though --

Since I play alot of normals, oftentimes I get MEGASUPERAGGRESSIVEI'MAKILLYOU lanes that just autoattack and spam constantly. Or lanes that push really hard. ( Mordekaiser) They harass like all-hell and push up to the tower. The shroud doesn't scare them, they just go after me constantly. I get tower-dived alot as well, and denied, and just am having issues with these hyper-aggressive players.
I know in a higher level game or such the jungler will gank over-extended and aggressive lanes, leading to alot of easy or free kills. Just in my current normal games either there isn't a jungler, or the jungler just ignores me (..?) and tries to gank lanes pushed to the enemy towers.

Tl;DR How do I fight a mega-aggressive lane, Without the help of a reliable jungler?
(When I do get a great jungler, the result of these lanes is a massacre and a really fed Akali)

Regarding the patch notes: I find it very useful to be able to proc q with Crescent Slash, the sole reason being it has more range than an autoattack. (Think Hungering Strike kind of hit-and-run)

My last game was 11-2-8 and devastated the opposing carries (Fizz and Vayne mostly).

What I love about the build is the amount of damage that it can produce as with good sustainability. The items purchase order have been carefully thought out which can fit several different styles of play. If you follow the guide as it is set up, then you will give yourself a good chance at success.

What I don't like about this guide is that the items are expensive (which is not the fault of the guide creator) and I have not been able to get a complete build in a game as of yet. Even going 11-2-8 as list above, I could have finished Rabadon's Deathcap (I had the Needlessly Large Rod and enough gold for the rest), but wasn't able to purchase it because the game ended with us being victorious.

In closing, I love the role of being the anti-carry on the team and picking off the Squishies on the other team. I have played a handful of games with Akali (about 20-30) and feel that I play her well and can out play most other Akali's that I go against, but also realize that while having success, there still is a high skill cap with her and I have a lot to learn on how to play her better. This would be a guide that I would highly recommend :)
