Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey welcome to my Akali build!
This guide is mainly just a solid item build/skill sequence to go off of. I'll throw in a few things I've found about this champion that may help you.
-High damage output
-Easy harassment after level 6
-Skills W and R can also be used for an easy escape
-Often targeted first
-Difficult to secure a kill before level 6
When going in for a kill I find this to be the best skill sequence to go with to get the most damage output in the shortest about of time:
Mark of the Assassin, Shadow Dance, Twilight Shroud, Mark of the Assassin, Shadow Dance,(Crescent Slash if necessary).
My reasoning behind this is if you get Mark of the Assassin off to start with the cool down will be gone by the time you're ready to use it again. Shadow Dance second assuming you're not face to face with the enemy to start off with. It also has an element of surprise so their first instinct will be run, giving you more time attacking dealing damage while not taking any yourself. Third we use Twilight shroud so they have no choice but to run because they'll be a sitting duck otherwise. I also find it helpful to throw it ahead of where your enemy is running to get some extra slow effect in there. Now we go back and spam Mark of the Assassin and use Shadow Dance whenever you fall behind. The reason I try to avoid spamming Crescent Slash is because it does consume a large amount of energy and doesn't put out all that much damage. I'll use it when the enemy stays to fight or during a tower dive.
Use Flash mainly for escaping when there are no enemy's you can Shadow Dance to.
Use Ignite to either give you the edge when outmatched in a 1v1 or on a champion with low health that will otherwise escape.
I find it better to stack a lot of ability power rather than a mixture of both attack damage and ability power. Just more damage output because Mark of the Assassin only has bonus damaged based off of AP. Although you deal physical damage when you hit the target to consume the marked enemy so AD isn't a bad idea. I threw Doran's Blade in there because Akali's passive, Twin Disciplines, will cause you to gain 8% spell vamp which helps more than you'd think. Plus the 100hp Doran's Blade comes with will help you out in early game. Mercury's Treads or Boots of Swiftness are you options for movement depending on the other teams champions and how well your team is doing. Sheen and Lich Bane is what makes Akali so feared. Can take up to 40% of an enemy's health bar out with just 2 quick attacks while taking no damage yourself. Mark of the Assassin, Shadow Dance, one basic melee attack, then flee with or without Twilight Shroud. The rest seems pretty self explanatory.
