Farming

When farming you'll want to keep a more passive aggressive style as to avoid taking TOO much damage. you'll want to be able to keep up the pressure in lane for at least long enough to allow your teleport to refresh so you can make a quick pass at the merchant and get back in the fight.

Team Work

Riven can snowball a lane in a mater of seconds. she doesn't need to worry too much about having someone help her out of situations, but a few heals every so often from Soraka or Sona can make life in lane much easier.
