Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Sion is a heavy dps/caster(not a caster in this build) and really shines early/mid game. Sion is also a amazing carry, his stun can be the difference between getting the kill or having to hear "Fail Gank lololololol" coming out of some kid's mouth. His ult also worka well in team fights because of the small(but effective) aoe heals. Sion was my first champ played back when this game came out =].
A Passive that reduces the damage of that turret hit that's coming for you.
Good stun ability
Enrage goes nicely with crits, giving you a huge bonus to your dps.
Sion is very effective when it comes to taking health from players.
His ult has a low CD and gives you massive Lifesteal and Attk speed.
Sion is slow, keep that in mind when ganking.
Once late game hits, your gonna start to see his effectiveness diminish(Sion becomes a carry late game.)
Hard to come-back if you get a bad start.
Like most melee champs, blind is your worst enemy.
"What?! One cast and my mana is gone?!" =| yes mana is a HUGE issue for Sion.
At start you wanna buy either a Dorian's Blade or Vampiric Scepter(If you feel health is always an issue for you get dorian's blade) The life steal is key here, it makes enrage cost nothing. Pick enrage as your first skill just so you can deal huge damage if needed. when it comes to farming the crit and enrage combo should help you get the minion kills you NEED! Cant stress this enough, with out minion kills Sion is very ineffective. Two reasons for this, 1. This is how your gonna get most of your hp, not the items. 2. because of the high cost of Infinity Edge, atma's is your big bonus for crits/dmg and is cheap, no minion kills makes this item pointless. Dont stress on getting kills until 6, harass when you can tho. Once six you should at least have cash for Executioner's Calling, and boots(if your doing well or got a kill).
Now head back to your lane and harass the living hell out of the champs your facing. With good timing and placement you and your lane buddy should be able to kill one or both of the opposing champs. Remember you skill cycle should be something like this... Shoot stun - Ult - chop, chop, chop - dead. keep in mind you have exhaust and clarity, if you time them well along with your stun should have no problem making quick work out of who ever your trying to kill. NEVER EVER EVER EVER.......EVER turret dive, worst thing you can do with Sion because he has no way of escape, and hes just a big slow Guy.
A good way to prevent this is let them push up and limit your harassing to just swinging at the melee champs trying to farm. Once you feel there close enough, get in shrub and position your self so that it dosent take to long to reach your "target". Fire that stun and get your *** moving to what ever the hell it just hit and with your ult on and enrage start swinging. You should be doing some descent damage. If not, I'm afraid your doing something wrong.
Any sane person would notice that Sion has a problem with having mana when you need it, the counter to this is use clarity early on untill your get Sheen. Sheen is important because its passive keeps your dps up when your not hitting those crits. Also get another Scepter, cause you will be making a Bloodthirstier out of it.
Keep on farming/killing/ganking, untill a tower goes down. This ussually is the sign to tell you that mid game is here. If your tower is the one that went down its time to very very defensively because Sion is a relatively easy champ to gank. So watch that map and pay attention when someone calls mia. When you get the money grab a Bf sword or Bloodthirstier if you got enough, If you farmed right you should have the hp to make atma's effective, if not just get a cloak of agility and make a Infinitys edge it wont be as effective but im sure it will get the job done.
Not much to say about late/mid game other than stay with your team and remember that your Ult has an AoE effect that can be a changing matter in team fights.
GOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER TOO RATE AND COMMENT ON MY BUILD, I WANNA KNOW HOW IT WORKED FOR YOU AND ANY THOUGHTS YOU HAVE ON IT. ADD ME AS A FRIEND AND WELL PLAY SOME TIME.
