Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Welcome to my Amumu build. Well, I've been playing Amumu since I had the IP to buy him, and I been wanting to post my own guide on Mobafire. So, here is it! I hope you like it and learn how to play my favorite champion. Also, Im Chilean, sorry about any spelling mistake.
If you need to know everything RIGHT NOW, here you go!
-Remember you can be a laner or jungler
-Let the carry farm if he needs to
-If you are jungling, buy wards!
-You aren't going to get a lot of kills, but lots of assists!
-Level E first, it helps to farm a lot!
-Remember to save mana, stop crying if you don't need it
-Always go with your team, you are an easy kill
-If you need to, sacrifice yourself in order to save a teammate
-Don't steal kills. You don't need it
-Save your ultimate for teamfights!
Runes are completely personal. Use whatever you got.
If you don't know what to use still, this is what I use:
- : Moar damage with your skills
- : You are mana-hungry, those seals will help you.
- : CDR on Amumu is nice, but buying CDR items will hurt your build, and you should let the carry get Blue.
- : Well, those Quintessence are really useful in Early game.
I go 9/21/0. I like the Defensive tree, what can i say.
But you can use other masteries if you want, like 9/0/21.
Again, use whatever you want with masteries, they aren't that important.
: I LOVE this spell. Use it for initiating, chasing, fleeing, or just to get there faster. An all-around spell.
: I use this spell to make initiating teamfights easier, so you dont get silenced, stunned, etc.
If you dont like Cleanse, swap it for other spell (Don't swap Ghost, it really helps!):
Flash: For intiating without tossing a bandage.
Ignite: For getting some early kills, and to make a Vladimir, Swain, Mundo useless.
Smite: As I said, Amumu can jungle really fast, so take this if your team needs it.
(Passive): Amumu's attacks reduce the target's magic resistance by 15 / 25 / 35 for 4 seconds. The debuff doesn't stack but it refreshes with every attack.
Nice passive. Let your teammates devastate with their skills.
: Amumu tosses a sticky bandage towards a target location, if it contacts an enemy Amumu pulls himself to it and will deal magic damage and stun the target for 1 second.
Awesome skill. Needs some aiming though, as smart opponents will know how to evade it. Put a skill point at lvl 3, and leave it till late game.
: Overcome by anguish, nearby enemies will be dealt a percentage of their maximum health plus a base ammount as magic damage each second.
Take away health bars with this! It can really devastate high health champions like Mundo. Max this second.
: (Passive): Amumu takes reduced damage from physical attacks. Each time Amumu is hit by an attack, the cooldown on Tantrum's active is reduced by half a second.
(Active): Amumu deals magic damage to surrounding units.
Useful for farming and poking at teamfights. Dont expect to hit like a truck though. Max this First.
: Amumu entangles surrounding enemy units in bandages, dealing magic damage upfront and rendering them unable to attack or move for 2 seconds.
Best. Ultimate. Ever.
Pop this in a teamfight, and your team can devastate the enemies!
Beware of it mana cost, you can get Out of Mana easily.
Start with a Doran's Shield. Even with it 475 gold cost, it helps the lane staying power. If you go jungle, take Cloth Armor + 5 Health Potions. You can solo top if you have a jungler, but I like to have a partner.
Just last hit minions to farm some gold. Don't be aggresive, you aren't tanky enough to survive a battle.
On our first trip back, take Boots of Speed, and a Ruby Crystal. Build the Ruby into a Aegis of the Legion when you can.
When you hit lvl 6, you can go for a kill with your lane partner.
Now teamfights are starting. Remeber to go with your teammates. They need you, as you need them to shine. Use Curse of the Sad Mummy to initiate. You can gank to if you have those type of champions in your team (like LeBlanc) You get the idea.
Remeber to farm and clean the creeps if their are reaching your towers.
Now, take Mercury's Treads. The extra MR helps, as it does the passive. If you feel you don't need it, take Boots of Swiftness instead.
Now we are building a Sunfire Cape. The health, armor and extra damage synergizes with Amumu so well that its OP. Try to grab the Giant's Belt first.
Complete it and go for Banshee's Veil.
This is where you shine. Now you can tank the whole team, and disable them to death.
If you already have Banshee's Veil, you can go for Guardian Angel to complete the build. Remember that Armor and MR are better than just Pure Health.
To initiate, Bandage Toss in (or Flash), and pop your ultimate in their faces.
If you can't go in (strange), then try to make them GO FOR YOU! Things like hitting creeps near them can help you. They will think you overextended. Hit R, and your Team appears to win!
Want some options?
- Randuin's Omen: If they have a lot of melee champions, the active will finish em off.
- Abyssal Scepter: Want AP and MR? Take this only if you know you are going fine.
- Warmog's Armor: I don't like it, but if you feel you need health, take it. Helps with tanking towers.
- Soul Shroud: Nice and Cheap. You want to pop Curse of the Sad Mummy faster? Use this.
- Frozen Heart: I dont like it. Take if you are facing AS champions.
- Thornmail: Awesome item. It kills DPS very fast if the dont have MR!
Thats all you need to know to play Amumu. This is the standard build I use for most balanced teams.
But... does this build really work?Answer: Yes :)
Thanks for reading my first guide ever. Hope you like it.
