Other Summoner Spells
Q: What are some other summoner spells I can or should use?
Well, To start off there are actually many that will help you but not be so useful
1.) Ghost - Ghost isnt a bad summoner spell on amumu honestly, there is no reason why you wouldnt take this
2.) Heal - Since heal has been updated, It is very viable in team fights so this will be helpful as well
3.) Revive - I hope you die if you use this (Just kidding... Maybe >.>)
4.) Smite - Well considering this isnt a jungling guide I wouldnt use it
5.) Surge - Attack Speed has nothing to do with Amumu unless you area troll and wanna try it anyways
6.) Teleport - This is a situational item when you know its going to be hard laning or just have that feeling, So dont hesitate to take it anyways.
7.) Cleanse - Well since there is a in game item Quicksilver Sash (A.K.A QSS) does the same thing basically I wouldnt take it
8.) Promote - I find this summoner spell usually most helpful when trying to push a lane, But you are a tank, not a pusher.
9.) Clairvoyance - Im not a support
Starting Summoner Spells I take: Exhaust/Flash OR Ignite/Flash
Why I take Exhaust/Flash or Ignite/Flash
I take Exhaust or Ignite depending on my teams summoner abilities. If there a lot of Exhausts, I take a Ignite and so on. But Exhaust can be used defensively or offensively so why not? Ignite can some healing (cough Volibear cough) or finish someone off when you cant touch them so why not :p. Flash is just good overall, It can be used offensively and defensively. Wither it is to flash over a wall for a kill or flash away from a turret or a gank. Its a great summoner spell.
Keys to know
1.) Know how to land your Q in situations.
2.) Know when to Ulti
3.) Know where you are most viable for your team.
4.) Know what your problem is (Whos dealing the most damage in this case)
5.) KNOW HOW TO COUNTER YOUR PROBLEM
Most of you know that his Ulti is a and THE game changer or a battle changer. You can use your ulti to initiate a fight or you can save it for when another champion ulties on the opposing team such as Nunu or Kat and use your Bandage Toss for the initiation.
Wait wtf? You are using AP runes on a tank? This makes no sense????
Yes, I do while HP/Armor runes are the main thoughts of a tank, some dont realize that his AP scaling is 1:1 ( or 100% in this matter on his on majority of his abilities). Since you usually want Amumu to be either the jungler or solo top when you have a jungler. This AP will help you harass as well as keep control of the lane when you are facing 2 or 1 opponent.
Q: Well arent you not going to be as tanky as you should early game?
A: ABSOLUTELY NOT! Amumu really relies on Sapphire Crystal early game so getting a doran's would not really help you and since if you followed my mastery page, You will have about 600+ HP anyways without HP runes
If you like, HP and Armor runes can be swapped out for the runes I use. I dont blame you if you are thinking wtf :p
As a tank, You obviously take damage for your team. You must initiate all the battles and make the right decisions for your team on a fight. You should be aware of how to counter and thing that is causing your team to loose team fights.
You can build several items that will help you, I just gave you my ideal list. You can get the following for some situations
Merc Treads - are very helpful, If there is a lot of CC, Get it
Stacking 2 FON's will help you take care of this problem, You can just sell your Aegies of the Legion and problem solved.
Stacking a second warmogs instead of Aegies of the Legion will also solve this problem
