I guess a lot of other Anivia guides could use some work then... You should go spread the news so they don't make the same mistake WainbowWaffles did D:

/end sarcasm

But yeah, everyone has their own opinions but just because it doesn't fit yours.. Doesn't mean you can call it a not so great guide :)

Great effort but not great guide, soz. First negative, that it is way too large and the worse, that it has many 'if's and 'or's which confuse if you dont know Anivia really well. Greater Seal of Resilience and Greater Glyph of Warding are for tanks, not for a damage dealer mage like anivia. If you dont want to get killed early learn how to avoid attacks, not take them with low damage cost. Ignite is useless in most situation in my opinion. This is strictly a personal feeling. I prefer Ghost and Flash in order not to die. Banshee;s Veil and Hourglass are useless for Anivia, she is not meant to take damage. Frozen Heart and Mejaiah Soulstealer are way more useful. I really liked your photos but u should place more showing how u flash-frost when enemy is moving or running. Very good section about laning opponents.

While going Anivia against a Karthus, it really depends on the enemy Karthus' skill level. What Karthus' objective is, is that they try to slowly chip away your health with Lay Waste until the right moment comes to finish you up. The best thing to do is to play aggressive (not too aggressive), this is because Karthus' AOE Defile uses a ton of mana early on the game. If you go near a Karthus and use ur Q-E Combo, Karthus uses Q-W-E-Q-Q etc, Karthus will have around 50% of his mana gone. Remember casters cant do much once there oom. Not to mention Karthus is fairly squishy and getting some MR Runes will help you a lot.
Sometimes you can play aggressive, sometimes not it does depend on the situation, not every Karthus will have the same playstyle/strategy. Playing against a Karthus, i would recommend blue buff asap as a good Karthus can be very strong to mid against.

I wouldn't recommend getting up close to a Karthus unless he's at around half health (doubt he'll even let you get that close if he's that low anyways) Anything higher and he'll survive your q > e with those two on CD he can simply wall of pain behind you and lay waste you while you try to get away.

Stay far and play safe, throw those flash frosts out there if one hits follow it up, if not, oh well. Just my opinion though.

Your passive btw, cannot save you from Karthus unless you're by your tower, lay waste ftw.

ty for your comment AIVION, and i agree with you. As Anivia i rarely get the opportunity to meet a Karthus mid, not to mention a good one. Ive played Karthus a bit and yeah i see your point. What Karthus does is to keep harassing with Lay Waste and wait for the right opportunity to go in for the kill. However if you try and dish as much damage as possible - close range, even though you'll take some damage too, i reckon thats the best chance u got against a Karthus. Once again Ty for comment and ill add it in. :)

I guess It's decent, I'm not an anivia player but I ran a build like this once.
HOWEVER your champions to fight against with karthus should be something like this instead because a. dodging his "mini bombs" (lay waste) Isn't that at all, and there harder to dodge than what you see it to believe here. Also bait a karth to req when u have ur egg up? Only ******ed karth player's would even dream of it with ur egg up, there's a way to tell.
Maybe it should be like this, since I have experience as a Karth player and somewhat as anivia: (Karthus: He can be a pretty hard champ to outzone. His Q is faster than your's, and his defile does a decent amount of damage. The only real way to defeat him is to get really up close and personal. Throw your Q right near him and detonate it. Then ult in and frostbite him. This kind of pain usually throws him off, and will finish him good. Make sure you either have your passive up, or a healer nearby because if you don't, you'll be taking a good amount of damage from him through this, and could be subjugated to a Requiem to the face. (Most of the time vs. a good karth if your good is usually a stand off)
there u go ^^ P.S i guess it's not really a big deal since most karth player's i see are complete nooblets, I'm sure your used to rofl stomping them though. Just wait til you face my karth, you'll change ur how to fight karth section for sure :P
but because of the extra tankiness of your build, and because I like it and used one similar of this, I shall vote a +1! Good work sir.

Ty for your comment birdie, i like rod of ages i just dont find it a staple 'must have item' for anivia. Catalyst is a necessary item for anivia as it strengthens her laning phase - i just build that into banshees, obviously if the enemy team has no ap, then u can choose to go RoA. I just like Zhonya's because of its active - especially useful in team fights if ur getting targeted, or against some1 like karthus/nunu/kat ult
