Introduction

Hey Guys, I'm AzinoVo. I love League of Legends and Anivia so I decided to make a guide. Hope you guys find this guide helpful to your gameplay. Keep in mind that results may vary. I do not claim to be "pro". I just want to share my knowledge and the experiences I have had at Mid Lane. I am not very good at Coding so some sections will be very plain, but I assure you, the information is there for those who wants it. :)

In this guide, you will find some tips on how to play Anivia more effectively and how to lane against other MID champions. Most of the information is already well known by experienced players, but I write them in anyways because I want to educate young Anivia players. I spent many hours writing this guide and so I hope for some feedback/comments. I use the spoiler buttons so people can read what they want to know more of. I hope it is not too overwhelming. Rebirth: When Anivia dies, she returns to her egg form, and after six seconds, she comes back to life. This skill is possibly one of the best passives in the game, but has a 4 minute CD.

Flash Frost: Anivia fires a long skill-shot that you can press again to stun and deal damage in a small area. When it passes through enemies, it applies a small slow.

Tips and Tricks

• When fired, pay attention and anticipate if it will hit the enemy. If you feel like it will, move forward and prepare to Frostbite the enemy.
• Can be used to save allies from chasers.
• Good farming tool, late game.

Crystallize: Summons a wall perpendicular to your position. The length of the wall increase with each level.

Tips and Tricks

• Can be use to reveal "fog of war" and important locations on the map: the brush, Golem, Lizard, and Baron Nashor.
• Can be used to separate enemies, especially in the jungle.
• Effective in preventing enemies from escaping.

frostbite: Damages the enemy and if the enemy has been "chilled" by Flash Frost or Glacial Storm, he/she will take double damage.

Tips and Tricks

• Powerful, but has a small range. Try to stay moderately close to where you can run forward and use it if you happen to stun the enemy with your Flash Frost.

Glacial Storm: Drains mana each second to summon a blizzard at target location. Damages all enemies affected as well as lower their movement and attack speed.

Tips and Tricks

• Low CD and works well with Frostbite since they share a similar range.
• Turn it on in team fights to damage enemies and prevent enemies from regrouping. Use on Attack Damage Carries since their attack speed will be reduced.
• Drains a considerable amount of mana. Turn it off ASAP at earlier levels.

The only deviation is that you can get Crystallize at either level 4 or 8. Personally, I like to get Crystallize at level 8 because I don't rely on it too much early game. If you like an escape mechanism early game, grab Crystallize at level 4, but if you want to max out your damage output, put the point into Flash Frost instead.

Important Skill to Master

Here, I will recommend to you a way to utilize your abilities quickly and more efficiently.

Smart Cast allows you to instantly cast/fire your spells in or at the direction of your cursor, without the hassle of manually aiming it or having to click on the champion you want it to hit.

EX: Smartcasting Flash Frost will fire it in the direction of your cursor. Smartcasting Frostbite will unleash the Frostbite on the champion at your cursor. Smartcasting an AOE skill such as Glacial Storm puts the cursor as the center of the Glacial Storm.

How to Smart Cast?
- On regular settings, you can Smart Cast using Shift + Q,W,E, or R
- You can adjust your smart cast settings to remove the Shift. Go to Key Bindings and look for Smart Cast spell 1,2,3,4 and adjust it as you see fit.

Why Smart Cast?
- If you practice Smart Casting, your aim and casting time will dramatically improve, allowing you to nuke enemy champions faster than they can nuke you.

Anivia's Spell Combo with Smart Cast is as follows:

(Shift + Q) to fire your Flash Frost, then Q again to stun,
(Shift + R) to activate Glacial Storm
(Shift + E) to fire Frostbite and then continue with auto-attacks.


WIth practice, you will know when to use Smart Cast while allowing your champion to be mobile.

• Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
  - Magic Penetration is always a must.

  -This will provide Anivia with some MP Regen before buying your catalyst. Whichever one you use isn't important, but personally, I believe the second choice is better since a few extra MP Regen late game wouldn't make much of a difference anyways.
  - Greater Seal of Armor Makes up for low defense and could save you when you Rebirth.
  
  
• Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power or Greater Glyph of Ability Power
  - I personally believe Scaling AP is better for Anivia because they give her more burst around level six, especially combined with Rod of Ages.
  - Greater Glyph of Magic Resist or Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist also works wonders.
  
  
• Greater Quintessence of Ability Power or Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed
  - The extra AP is ideal for Anivia early game.

Spellsword : I like Spellsword because it utilizes Anivia's long attack range. You can harass champions for more damage.

Wanderer : Gives Anivia more movement speed to gank top and bottom lane.

Improved Recall : In my opinion, this is very useful and could possibly save you from certain death if you are, for instance, recalling in the brush and the opponent is trying to find you.

Runic Affinity : Extends the duration of Crest of the Ancient Golem .

Instead of three points in Wanderer , you can also put three points into Mastermind .

Summoner Spells

Always grab and .

Why grab Ignite?

Allows Anivia to get the kill even when the enemy flashes away.
Allows Anivia to counter champions with high armor and magic resist.
Allows Anivia to 1v1 certain champions with a heal. EX: Vladimir Swain etc.
Gives Anivia an extra source of damage when her other spells are on CD.

Why grab Flash?

Allows Anivia to escape harmful situations.
Allows Anivia to chase down enemies.
Allows Anivia to juke enemy abilities. EX: Petrifying Gaze Trueshot Barrage etc.
Allows Anivia to become an assassin/position herself for her other spells.
Allows Anivia to surprise enemies in a 1v1.

Other Useful Spells

: Useful for chasing, escaping, and positioning in team fights.

: Can be used to immediately get back to lane after you recall. Can be used to teleport to an ally structure, preferably a ward, to gank enemies.

: Can be useful if you are supporting an ally at bottom, but it is not the best.

Farming

Tip 1: Anivia is a very clumsy farmer due to her slow attack speed, low damage, and awkward attack animation, but her attack range makes up for it. Stay in the back and farm. Make use of the full attack range or the enemy champion will come harass you. When he or she comes close, back up.

Tip 2: Do NOT overly harass the enemy champion to the point where minions are attacking you. Concentrate on your farm while paying attention to the enemy's movements and their CD's. Keep in mind what kind of CC they have and how they deal damage to you.

Tip 3 : Early Game, never use your abilities to farm. When you are low mana, the enemy mid and/or jungler will mostly likely gank you.

Tip for Late Game : Use your Glacial Storm when the minions are clumped. For Incoming Minions, use ultimate to slow and fire Flash Frost.

• Starting off, Boots of Speed and Health Potion will provide you with both utility and sustain to start farming.
• Stay in lane and farm enough gold to buy a Chalice of Harmony.
• When you go back, advance to Stage II and begin building those items.

Stage II Preparations

• After your Chalice, get some Health Potion and some Sight Ward so you can stay in lane longer. If you are having troubles, rush Kage's Lucky Pick.
• Farm until you have enough for Catalyst the Protector. At around level six or seven, grab crest of the ancient Golem and gank either top or bottom lane.
• Go back and buy Sorcerer's Shoes and Rod of Ages. Advance to Stage II+ and Stage III.

• If armor is needed, buy Chain Vest in preparation for Guardian Angel.

• Reaching your item limit, pick your next items carefully. If other team is tanky, buy Void Staff or Abyssal Scepter.
• If other team is Attack Damage Carry heavy, purchase Frozen Heart as a counter or Guardian Angel - Zhonya's Hourglass to protect yourself.
• If you want to further your damage against high Health champions, purchase Deathfire Grasp and/or Liandry's Torment. If you want more health, grab a Warmog's Armor.
• When your gold begins to pile up, advance to Stage V.

Stage V GG

• Congratulations, you have reached Stage V. This stage is basically when money is no longer a problem. Sell items as you see fit, and change it according to the enemy team.
• Splurge yourself with Elixir of Brilliance, Elixir of Fortitude, and Oracle's Elixir.
• Change enchantments as you see fit. Enchantment: Homeguard is a must if your base is under attack by the enemy and/or creeps.

Mid Lane and Types of Encounters

Early Game and Encounters

Early game Anivia is rather defensive, yet aggressive. You want to make sure never to overextend too far away from your tower especially if there is an enemy Jungler and/or MIA's, but when an enemy champion comes too close, make sure to harass with normal attacks until they go out of range. Pay attention to whether minions are targeting you. Call your MIA's and buy a Vision Ward to shut down Jungling Shaco, Roaming Twitch and Evelynn. Don't be afraid to buy wards because it is important to shut down those early stealth characters before they get too fed. Trust me, If you are not paying attention, Twitch will be 11 0 before you realize what hit you. Buy wards! If you are not a ward person, then tell your Tank to get oracles. Always keep in mind your skill cooldowns and the movement of the enemy champion. If your Flash Frost is on cooldown, do not extend past your minions.

(Far Encounters)

Plan your approach against the enemy champion. I usually wait 10 seconds before firing my first flash frost to test his/her movement patterns. Do not spam your Q because then, the enemy can easily predict when you will use it. Preferably, you would want to fire your Q while moving left and right or when you know your opponent will come close to farm. Always aim your Flash Frost toward the enemy but slightly toward the direction that they are running.

(Semi-Close Encounters)

If the enemy champion overextends within your skill range (Not at the very Tip of FF), shoot your Flash Frost and prepare to pop it if it hits. If you feel that the FF will hit, move Anivia forward so that she will be in range for Frostbite. Follow through the combo with Frostbite and a few auto attacks. If the enemy champion retreats, keep auto attacking until they leave your range. If the enemy champion has CC (Stuns, Silence, Fear, etc), retreat after your spell combo and the normal attack.

Close Encounters

As Anivia, you should always try to avoid close encounters with the enemy. At early levels, she has no escape mechanism except her stun from Flash Frost and Flash. If you are dangerously close to the enemy, stun and retreat. However, once you hit level 6, Anivia can 1v1 at close range quite effectively, depending on the enemy champion. If the enemy enters range, immediately use Glacial Storm and follow with Frostbite and auto attacks. At earlier Levels, Immediately deactivate Glacial Storm and retreat if you know your Mana pool is low.

In Your Face Encounters

Depending on the champion, you can either retreat or initiate.
For example, if the you are in a 1v1 with a champion that lacks hard CC such as Xin Zhao or Tryndamere, you can easily nuke them with Glacial Storm Flash Frost Frostbite + auto-attacks.

On other occasion with champions with hard CC or a shield, you have to plan your strategy according. For example: When going against Sivir / Nocturne or Sion.

Sivir / Nocturne : You have to bait their spell shield. When she is chasing after you, fire your Flash Frost to try to stun her. If she activates her spell shield right away, you should still be able to hit her with Flash Frost's second tick. Immediately turn around for the Glacial Storm and Frostbite. If she did not waste her shield on Flash Frost, do not use Frostbite right away. Use Glacial Storm to bait it out.

Sion : Juke him by moving erratically, in and out of the brush, and also try using your wall. Use your spells immediately after they are off CD.

(Encounter With Junglers and Gankers)

The sad news is that if you overextend, you will most likely be ganked. Junglers prefer to shut down Anivia because she is very squishy early game. Depending on the champion that is ganking you, you can either choose to initiate or retreat depending on the Jungler's health. If the jungler is below half health and is coming at you, pretend to retreat while staying away from the Mid Lane Champion. Once they come too close, fire your Flash Frost (Pop your Q for Stun) -> Glacial Storm -> Frostbite -> Ignite -> Auto-Attacks until they are dead. If he/she follows you to your tower, your Rebirth(Passive) will most likely secure you the kill. Keep in mind the other champion in your lane. EX: Kassadin, Veigar, Morgana, etc. Sometimes, it is more beneficial for you if you retreat. I've done this on countless occasions and usually, I end up with both red and blue buff ;) The same idea applies to gankers. If the ganker is for example, Twitch (Squishy), you can nuke him down before he can kill you. The main idea is to never panic when he/she does gank.

• Crowd Control Effects are stuns, silences, snares, fears, suppresses, knock-ups, pulls, taunts, and in certain instances, it will cause champions to be pushed back. Slows also count as a "CC" but almost all champions have one.
• Keep in mind that all damage shown here does not consider armor and magic resist. True damage. however, ignores resistances.
• Gap Closers are certain abilities that allow a champion to "jump" toward the target. EX: Leaps, Teleports, etc.
• Damage Calculation totals the complete spell combo of that champion at level six. Note that all champions have physical auto-attacks. For Casters, I will add physical damage equivalent to three auto-attacks.
• Damage Over Time will be displayed as DPS, Damage Per Second.

  Akali is a tricky one, but she does not become a threat until level 6. Be very aggressive against her at level 1 because her damage output is limited to her Mark of the Assassin. If she comes close nuke her with Flash Frost and auto-attacks. Don't be afraid to chase her with auto-attacks. Being a melee, she can't really hit you back. At level 2, she will most likely get Twilight Shroud. Stay way from it, but do pay attention to where she is. If you want to be able to 1v1 her at level 6, I recommend you buy a Vision Ward. Never fire your Flash Frost until Akali uses her Shadow Dance to jump you. When you do 1v1, always consider how much spell vamp and/or life steal she has.

  All you have to look out for is when Annie's Pyromania is active. Simply click on Annie to see if she has it. If you pay attention though, Annie usually giggles when it is available. Keep in mind Annie's Molten Shield. If you're going for the kill, expect your skills to do a little less. Annie usually grabs her shield at level 4. Be very careful of Annie's Flash and stun combo.   Cassiopeia is very dangerous. Her Noxious Blast deals an insane amount of damage and when you are hit, Cassiopeia will most likely come toward you for the Twin Fang spam. If you can evade her Noxious Blast, Cassiopeia isn't much of a problem. You can play aggressive until level 4, when Cassiopeia grabs Miasma. Harass her using your skills, but don't try to come in for auto-attacks. At level 6, Petrifying Gaze becomes a serious issue if you are hit. To evade it, do not look directly at her. If you manage to pull off your Flash Frost, immediately Glacial Storm and Frostbite. She will most likely use her ultimate after the initial stun from your Q. Let your Glacial Storm runs it course if she is still stuck in it. Run around, but remember, do not stare at her. When Frostbite comes off CD, use it. She should be dead.   Diana is melee so you can easily harass her with your auto-attacks. When she reaches level six, she will try to damage you with her Crescent Strike which deals damage in an arc. If she is successful, she will jump toward you with her Lunar Rush. At this point, drop Glacial Storm and use your Q + E. If you do not have your Rebirth, retreat instead. When she tries to 1v1 you, do not back down. Nuke her down with your spells and if you die, your Rebirth will save you. When he Drain fire your Q and stun him. Unleash your entire spell combo and he should be dead. However, if your are caught by his entire spell combo, you may or may not survive, even with Rebirth. Your best bet is to wait for the fear to wear off then flash out. If he is MIA (Missing in Action) Try to stay away from the brush since he can easily flash towards you with his Crowstorm without being seen.   Fizz is one the most annoying champion to lane against at mid because he can easily juke your spells with Playful / Trickster. When fighting him, do not come close or he will jump you with Urchin Strike and nuke you with Seastone Trident. At level 1 however, play very aggressive since he probably won't grab Playful / Trickster until level 2. The only way to kill Fizz is to wait for him to burn his Playful / Trickster. When he does, commence with your regular spell combo. If he does not burn his Playful / Trickster, harass him using Glacial Storm and Frostbite, saving Flash Frost for when he comes close.   Do not underestimate Gragas. he may be underused but his damage is no child's play. Avoid close-encounter with Gragas to avoid getting hit by Body Slam. Stay in the back and try to juke his Barrel Roll - when Gragas rolls it at you, always move left or right to try to dodge it. Most Gragas rolls the barrel behind you so you will walk into it when you run. He will also try to use the Barrel Roll to deny your farm. Keep in mind that when Drunken Rage is active, Gragas takes less damage. Since he is melee, auto-attacks against him are effective, but is not recommended. Anivia has no problems with turret Heimerdinger because she can easily nuke them down. With Rocket Heimerdinger, stay behind your minions.   Anivia highly counters Karthus mainly because he is very slow and squishy. Predict his movements, aim accordingly, and nuke him down. Auto-Attack him as many times as possible when he overextends. Stay close to your minions if you want to 1v1 him. His Lay Waste deals double damage if it hits just Anivia.Since he spams Lay Waste like no tomorrow, it is very easy to predict where he will use it next. When he reaches level 4, he will get Wall of Pain. Like Annie, Karthus can Flash + Wall of Pain when he and the jungler is ready to gank.   Kassadin is the ideal counter against any caster, even Anivia. Since Kassadin is a melee, try to harass him with your auto-attacks. If he is dishing out more damage than you, mainly Null Sphere, stay in the back and fire your Flash Frost when he tries to farm. Do not over-commit in trying to kill Kassadin. Most of the time, he will just Riftwalk away. Do not spam your spells when Kassadin grabs Force Pulse. The only way to 1v1 him at higher levels is to wait until he uses his entire spell combo, mainly Riftwalk. Engage immediately after you are out of Null Sphere's silence.   Try not to stand by your minions because her Bouncing Blades has a chance of hitting you. Harass with your spell combo, but do not stay too long. Once you've exhausted your skills, she will not hesitate to Bouncing Blades + Shunpo + Sinister Steel and auto-attack you. After she jumps you, chase after her and auto-attack her. Be wary of of creep aggro. At level six, Katarina becomes trickier to go up against because of Death Lotus. Make sure to never use your Flash Frost until Katarina begins channeling it. If you do fire Flash Frost and miss, 95 percent of the time, Katarina will immediately use her entire combo. Your best bet is to have Flash ready for when that happens. If Katarina makes the mistake of initiating first, punish her for it by stopping her Death Lotus with your Flash Frost.   Kennen, like most champions does not become a problem until he gets his ultimate, Slicing Maelstrom. The easiest way to counter him is to dodge his Thundering Shuriken which isn't a problem if you hide behind your minions. Try to save your Flash Frost for when Kennen tries to jump in with Lightning Rush. Be very careful when Kennen manages to get 2 Mark of the Storm on you. The third skill that hits will stun you. When Kennen activates Slicing Maelstrom, immediately Flash out of it, because it deals tons of damage, plus has a 100% of stunning you if you stand in it long enough. Make every skill count because you won't be able to stay in lane long enough when your Mana runs dry.   Be very careful of LeBlanc. Like always, try to stay in the back and harass using your skills. At level 6, LeBlanc becomes this giant nuking SOB. She can easily reach you by using Distortion to get close, followed by Sigil of Silence + Mimic to dish out an insane amount of damage. Afterward she will most likely return to her original position using Distortion. Be Warned! Do not try to 1v1 LeBlanc unless you are stacking massive amounts of magic resist. The only way to successfully 1v1 LeBlanc is when she uses all of her spells, mainly Mimic, on birdform Anivia. After Rebirth, you have a better chance of winning the fight since she wasted her ultimate already. Be very careful though of Mirror Image. When LeBlanc goes below a certain amount of health, she creates a clone of herself next to her. This can be tricky, but you can easily check which one is real. At level 1, some Malzahar grab Call of the Void to harass from afar, but most of them grab Malefic Visions to farm. He will most likely use his Malefic Visions on a low-health minion since the Malefic Visions can transfer to nearby targets. Try to stay away from minions that are about to die from Malefic Visions or risk getting it passed on to Anivia. Malzahar's Summon Voidling targets those that are affected by Malefic Visions. Malzahar's Call of the Void is very similar to Anivia's Crystallize in the sense that it appears perpendicular to Malzahar's position. The only difference is that it deals double damage if you stand in the center. To defeat Malzahar, Anivia must poke at him from afar.   Morgana is one of the hardest person to lane against - for obvious reasons. Her Black Shield absorbs magic damage while rendering her immune to all disables, making her rather difficult to kill. Morgana's Black Shield and passive, Soul Siphon which gives her bonus spell vamp, allows her stay in lane for a long time. Try to hide behind your minions to avoid her Dark Binding. Do not stand in Tormented Soil because it deals damage plus reduces your magic resist each second, making you more vulnerable. Keep in mind that Orianna's auto-attacks deal more damage each time she hits you - Clockwork Windup.She will harass you with her Command: Attack Command: Dissonance + auto-attacks combo until you are low. Once you are below half health, Orianna will change her combo to Command: Attack Command: Shockwave Command: Dissonance and then auto-attack you until you die. Orianna is extremely squishy and so 2 successful spell combos should kill her.   You should have no problems with Ryze in the mid lane. Your spells and auto-attacks have a longer range than Ryze. The only problem is Ryze's Rune Prison. Once your are caught in Rune Prison, Ryze will then dump all of his spells on you. Keep in mind that Ryze's passive - Arcane Mastery allows Ryze to spam his spells indefinitely. If you can avoid his Rune Prison, you should have no problems. Also keep in mind that when you 1v1 Ryze, his ultimate Desperate Power gives him additional spell vamp. Nevermove has a delay and so avoiding it is possible. If you are caught, Swain will combo with Torment Decrepify + auto-attacks. Decrepify slows for a large amount and so it would be to your advantage to not get hit with Nevermove in the first place. At level 6, Swain becomes extremely tanky from his Ravenous Flock which deals damage to nearby enemies and heals him for a portion of the damage dealt. It would be wise not too 1v1 him when he has his ultimate. If he is below half health, killing him is possible. However, in my opinion, Anivia can easily 1v1 her because of Rebirth but depending on whether she wasted her Unleashed Power. If she did, kill her after you come back from egg.   Early game Veigar can easily be countered. Since Veigar will try to Baleful Strike minions that are low on health, you can easily predict where he will go. Be watchful of his movements. If he overextends, auto-attack him. When you see a minion that is low on health, move Anivia near that minion. Do not venture too far from your tower, especially at level 4, when Veigar grabs Event Horizon. The easiest way to evade Event Horizon is to stand still. Most Veigar will aim his/her Event Horizon in the direction that you are running. If you continue to run in that same direction, you will get stunned. The best thing to do when you are stuck in between Event Horizon is to NOT panic! If you are stuck in the center, you can Flash out of it without getting hit by the stun.   You should not try to auto-attack Viktor. Once you get too close, he will most likely Power Transfer, dealing damage while giving himself a small shield. At level 4, he gets his Gravity Field, which is a slow that can stun if you stand in it for too long. Like Swain, it has a small delay, so avoiding it is possible.   Like Viktor, you should not try to auto-attack Vladimir. Once you are close, he will hit you with Transfusion. Even if you auto-attacked him, Transfusion will heal him back to full. Only auto-attack when you have successfully pulled off your Flash Frost Frostbite combo. At that point Vladimir will most likely run toward his tower. Auto-attack him as many times as possible, then retreat. The most threatening thing about Vladimir is his Sanguine Pool. It allows him to be untargetable for 2 seconds. If you are trying to kill him, Ignite him before he pools away. The lower your health, the more he will want to dive you by your tower. He will use his combo, then pool out.   Xerath is a very clumsy champion which makes him decently easy to lane against. Try to stay away from your minions because Xerath likes to fire his Arcanopulse in a line to farm the minion waves. When has has on Locus of Power, his spell range increases. The only thing to look out for is his Mage Chains which does damage and makes his next spell stun you. Juke his Arcanopulse and you won't get stunned. At level 6, the stun is almost inevitable since Arcane Barrage releases 3 long range blast and any one of them could stun you. Anivia however, can easily counter Xerath - Her damage output is higher than Xerath and plus she can deal more damage in less time. Do not be afraid to initiate against Xerath.   Ziggs is a mage that specializes in harassing you from semi-close distances with Bouncing Bomb, which either explodes on contact or bounces twice and explode on the third landing. Try to stay away from Ziggs once he reaches level 2 because he will most likely try to use Hexplosive Minefield. It has a delay so evading it is possible. However, if you get caught in the dead center, you will be hit with at least 2-4 bombs before escaping it. When he gets you low enough, he will commence to use his Mega Inferno Bomb either directly at you or in the direction that you are running. Your best bet is to pay attention to the explosion radius and evade it with flash. In close combat, you will not have enough time to dodge his Mega Inferno Bomb because of the large AOE.   Zyra is one of the hardest mages to go up against for two reasons - Her bursts are very strong and her zoning capabilities are unmatched. Since all of her skills have a delay, you can evade them, but since Deadly Bloom is an AOE skill, it is best to stay a little farther back. When she summons a Thorn Spitter, retreat immediately and try to kill it when it is not targeting you. If you initate Zyra while her Spitter is active, it will begin attacking you. At level 6, you can try to get a kill if you are very careful. First, hit your Flash Frost and get the stun. Run to her and commence Glacial Storm and Frostbite. After the initial stun, she will try to snare you with Grasping Roots. Dodge it in any way you can, even if you have to waste your Flash. Stay in close proximity of her while the Glacial Storm is still on her. When Frostbite is off CD, dump that and Ignite on her and she should be dead.   AP Ezreal has become rather popular so I decided to include him in the guide. You can easily evade most of Ezreal's skillshots by staying far behind your minions, except for Essence Flux which ignores minions and hits only champions. Dodge that and he has no damage. Do not leave your minions and go in the open because his Arcane Shift automatically locks on to the nearest target. Fire your Flash Frost through your minions and engage when you know it will hit. If you are too far away, do not try to engage: He will most likely escape with Arcane Shift after the initial stun is over.

  Do not underestimate AP Master Yi, he can get PENTAKILLS easily. However, Anivia can easily counter him at mid. Pay attention to when Master Yi has his Double Strike available because it is when he will most likely try to Alpha Strike you. Alpha Strike hits up to 4 targets so try to stay behind your minions to avoid getting hit. You can easily counter him after his Alpha Strike when he is near: auto-attack him when he tries to run back. If he Meditate, you can easily Flash Frost and stun him, then follow with your regular combo.

  Nidalee is easy to counter if you can dodge her Javelin Toss / Takedown. The only concern with Nidalee at mid is that she can easily heal back to full health using Primal Surge / Swipe. To counter her, wait until she grabs her Aspect Of The Cougar and initiates in cougar form. she wil try to pounce, swipe, and takedown. Juke her skills and nuke her using your regular spell combo.

  Pay attention to the bar below Mordekaiser - which abosrbs damage. Do not try to harass him unless the shield has depleted. Keep in mind that in a 1v1, Children of the Grave will deal damage and heal Mordekaiser for that amount. Do not over-commit if he still has his ultimate.

  After the buff, Soraka is now a viable mid with - Infuse and Starcall. You have to nuke her from afar because at close range, Soraka will silence you and commence the Starcall spam. You won't be able to do anything since you will be silenced from Infuse. Use your spells wisely because Soraka will try to heal herself with Astral Blessing every chance she gets. You won't be able to outlane her if your mana runs dry. Do not exchange auto-attacks with her when she uses Astral Blessing since it gives her increased armor.

  Talon is a very scary Mid Laner that can silence you while dealing an insane amount of damage. Since Anivia has low armor, be very careful if you get a Talon in your lane. Stay as far from him as possible because with Boots of Speed, you won't be able to outrun him once you get caught with Cutthroat and Rake. Do not over-commit on killing him at level 6 unless you have a Vision Ward ready because he will juke you with his Shadow Assault and rape you with Cutthroat Rake Noxian Diplomacy. Stay in semi-close range of Talon but retreats if he comes near. You can counter Talon before level 6 when he tries to jump you with Cutthroat. After the silence, chase him and nuke him with your spell combo. Like Katarina, save your Flash Frost for when he jumps you.

  Twisted Fate is easy to lane against because he is extremely squishy plus his Wild Cards can easily be evaded. The only concern is when he has his stun (Yellow Card) from Pick A Card. Pay attention to when he has it available.

  The only problem with Zilean is his Time Bomb. Since Time Bomb is his only source of damage, he will try very hard to get close to you. Be warned! Once Zilean gets his Time Warp, he can easily give himself a speed boost, run toward you, then place Time Bomb on you. Be very attentive to when this happens. Always have enough health to survive at least 2 Time Bomb since Zilean can use a bomb right after he Rewind. If you do not have your Rebirth, do not try to 1v1 Zilean when he has his ultimate - Chrono Shift because he can revive himself with it.

Tips on Team Fights

What To Do As Anivia

• Target squishy champions such as the enemy's AP Carry.
• Stay behind your tank while nuking those in the front.
• Position your Glacial Storm so it will hit the most people. Keep in mind that it also reduces the enemy's attack speed. Use it to assist your allies if they are being targeted by a DPS.
• Use Crystallize to prevent enemies from escaping and also to separate the enemy team. You can also use Crystallize to save yourself or your allies from chasers. Keep in mind that Crystallize also reveals terrain: Use it to reveal major locations like Blue Golem, Dragon, and Baron. Use Crystallize to reveal a nearby bush if the enemies are MIA.
• Try to have your Rebirth available before team fights since the enemy will be quick to target you, dump all their spells on you, just to realize that you have your egg. WIN!
• Stay mobile. Position yourself so that the enemy is in range on your spells.
• Do get blue buff before team fights.
  
  

  What Not To Do
  

  
  
  • Never target the tanks.
  • Never overextend and get caught by the enemy team.
  • Never waste a majority of your Mana if you fear a team fight will occur.
  • Never use Frostbite unless you are certain the enemy is "chilled" by Flash Frost or Glacial Storm.
  • Never stray away from your teammates while in a teammate. Target one enemy champion at a time.
  • Never troll with your Crystallize. Your allies will not be pleased if you caused their death with your wall.
