Love the in Depth part the graphs that explain it but i vote it down because of the items that you choose. You have zero HP items = getting jumped on instant if your playing high elo. Put in a RoA or Rylais or atleast some dorans rings. This item combo is only good vs low skilled players.

man, that is one hell of a guide. very well written, extremly detailed and scientificly proven (if you love statistics, that´s how it has to be done! well, but it´s still just a game...). anyhow, great work, all thumps up. the "real" no.1 of all annie guides.

edit: one more thing, I totally disagree with you about the laning thing. ofc annie belongs mid, and should always be there, but (as you said) there´s people who just insist on that (damn you morde..). but still with a laning partner like akali, your build will still tear them apart. people just have to adopt to situation, for myself I go boots + 3 pots first, hit lvl 3 and bam soraka / sona / janna (put any support here) is gone..

Fantastic guide! I loved this guide. It was an excellent base for me to learn how to play and use Annie. While I'm not the best Annie out there, I have learned so much from this guide that has put me infront of other Annie players I have seen. I have feel comfortable enough with Annie to play with my own build now which feels great :D

I totally understand you. The first lane I played Annie on, was actually a sidelane. Back then, a jungler was really rare and nobody gave a **** about metagame. AP-Carry+Support was actually godlike and still is quite good.
But today it's different. Indeed, you can actually rape any Support @ bot, but will the enemy Carry let you do that? No. Clever positioning and good reactions of enemy Carry+Support will leave you in a very bad spot yourself.
Generally: Support+AD Carry > every other Champ Comp.
BUT, if you are godlike, the enemy mediocre and or really dumb, then you can actually rape them or push em back and ruin their whole late game.
It's all about: If every player has the same skill, where does an AP Carry fit best? And that is mid.
Other reasons an AP-Carry is on a sidelane is a special tactic (<-WhiteRa ftw) you and your mates invented. But if it failes, you better have a plan B ;)

Thank you. A guide will only take you so far. You can learn from a guide up to a certain point.
The reason why many guides don't work for other players is, that they dont have the same amount of map awarness or reaction time.
For example: You play a strategie game, like SC2, and you watch a pro building 9 buildings in a certain order, and then built specific units, going to enemy base and win the game. You do the same, and fail. Why, some may ask? Because the pro actually scouted (saw the enemy base and knew how to counter the enemy build order), build the buildings with the perfect timing, and controlled his units with godlike movement skills.
It's the same for a guide.
For Example:
Someone writes a guide about Annie plays a game. He sees a fed a enemy who could kill him in 1 second with 600 HP, he knows that his burst will do 450dmg. What will he do? He will back off, regroup with his team and than attack.
Someone who read that guide faces the same situation. He cant gauge how much damage he will do, jumps in, fails to kill the enemy and gets killed instead. He will now rate the guide down and say "This guide sux!!11one".
The whole purpose of a guide should be to teach someone to play a champ to a mediocre level, from there the player needs to improve himself. He needs to invent his own strategies and builds or else he will fail.

Seems like a good guide, and I might try out the build sometime, but I do like what I do on my own build. I rush my Rod of Ages only because of the survivability early game and early damage. My reasoning is that although Rylai's Crystal Scepter is great due to the giant's belt and slow, you also should remember that Catalyst does give you that early health and mana and level up health and mana regen. Also, if you notice, you get even more health from RoA than RCS and you get mana with the same amount of AP and, though it does take 10 min, it's worth it to me. I usually say this: if you can build it in under 25 min, you're golden. I can see where you're going with the build though, and I may test it out for myself. As for masteries, I'm still using the still-viable 9/0/21 method. One thing I tell my readers about the one I posted a while back on Leaguecraft is that to build freely, but my core items are always sorcerer's shoes, Rod of Ages, and Rabadon's.
I've tinkered with a few other items (Will of the Ancients, Zhonya's Hourglass, etc.), and I find myself doing fairly well.
Yes, I know: wall of text, but I thought I'd give you a little insight on my reasons as to why I build the way I do.
As for runes, I'm still content using magic pen marks, health quints, mana regen seals, and cdr glyphs.
All are, of course, flat.
