Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey guys, this is my first guide so be constructive. I play AP Ezreal as an extremely bursty ranged carry. Depending on your play style he can be a powerful asset to your team.
Many people will troll and call you a noob for going AP with EZ. Just ignore them and shut 'em up with your score. most of the time the other team ends up underestimating me and going 'HOLY S#!* he just 1v3'd us... happens all the time. And if they're trolling bad enough leave 'em with a nice 'trololol' to put 'em in their place. but try to be a good sport, no need to put a target on your back.
I recommend Cooldown Reduction runes due to the fact that the majority of your damage comes from your abilities. With arcane shift and flash Ez is a force to be reckoned with in the jungle, and having the extra CD has saved my life countless times.
Also for your Seals it may be more beneficial to go with flat health or whatever will help your play style best. I just happened to have all armor and haven't started buying new runes.
With masteries I feel that the Offence tree is fairly standard for most of the AP characters. However, I chose to put the last nine into utility for the extra mana and time on creep buffs. another build I have used is putting nine into defense for the health boost.
Now item builds should never be set in stone. You should change both the build as well as the build order depending on your opponents and how well you are doing. I begin with the Amplifying tomb being the item with the most ap at the beginning as well as being a precursor to later items. now depending on how much gold I have when I return to base, I go with either the blasting wand (for that extra boost in damage beginning game) or begin building my fiendish codex for lane sustainability.
depending on my opponent and how well I'm doing in lane I may or may not buy my boots right away. however just keep in mind that this limits you to your flash and Arcane shift for escapes.
I rush my Rabadons Hat immediately after Morellos Evil Tomb. And always keep an ellixer of Brilliance up with Rabadons for a huge boost of AP for cheep.
If your getting Targeted HARD (usually when you destroy and they stop underestimating you) make sure you build yourself a Zhonya's Hourglass for the 2 Second immunity.
Do what you like. Just as I have previously stated, it is solely dependent on your play style. I chose to take exhaust as a great way to set up your skill shots as well as an extra escape. it is especially good against Attack speed champs as it slows them down.
Now your skill sequence will come with time. but the two different combinations I use involve different scenarios. Now all your abilities scale of AP, however, Essence flux, Arcane Shift and your Ult are the most powerful abilities you will have. with my full build my Ult does between 1300 and 1500 dmg, and Essence flux will do over 700. Just remember that essence flux will pass all creeps only hitting enemy champs.
POKING - for poking I will either Arcane Shift in and essence flux, or simply Essence flux.
TAKING THE KILL - Arcane shift in (when you will hit the enemy champ) Essence flux, Mystic shot, and (if they aren't already dead) Ult.
BUSH GANK - (when running away or hiding get into a bush) when lined up Ult, Essence flux, and Mystic shot. this will just about kill most champs then you can run in auto attacking using Arcane Shift to chase for that last hit. this is my favorite and most powerful combination as it guarantees both your ult and essence flux which are your most powerful abilities.
Always use Mystic shot as a means to reduce the cooldown time on your other abilities.
AP Ez can be an extremely important piece to any team. He has crazy burst damage that is mostly AOE. Both his Ult as well as Essence Flux will hit all enemy champs caught in range. (USE YOUR ULT FOR MORE THAN JUST KILLS) Your ult is more than just a long range KS, or used to get that last hit on the running champ. I use my ult to initiate or mid team fight. this way the enemy team takes as much damage as possible to help your team get a good exchange. with your ult and Essence flux you can easily (at least) half most of the enemies health if not more.
Just remember that kills are good but assist are equally as important overall.
Remember, Stack AP Bush gank, and Arcane shift through jungle walls. Ult to help your team with long range initiations or getting creeps of towers. and hit as many Champs as you can with your abilities. You'll be surprise how much burst your have.
