Well here we are guys, who thought I'd make a AP guide when his ult just got nerfed. Well fk da porice. I'm here to show you scrubs how to play this homosexual guy and get 5000 ELO like I am. AP Ezreal is great late game and laning phase. He can do great burst damage against squishy oppenents and sometimes can kill them with 1 combo (without ult). Enjoy my first trashy guide.

Ezreal is a great AP Champion but like with every champion, he has weaknesses. A year or 2 ago, Ezreal got nerfed which made his all his moves skill shots.

Pros -

• Incredible burst damage
• Amazing poke in lane
• Fun to play

Cons -

• Bad pusher
• If you miss a skillshot you'll lose a chance for a kill

Flash and ignite is probably the best summoner spells for AP Ezreal.

Explanation

Most champions should always have flash so why not for ? It's a great utility and helps you position yourself in teamfights to get that perfect ult and helps you get away if your Arcane Shift is down.


Most APC's take this summoner spell. Use it to secure kills because alot of times you'll find that your enemy always survives with a little bit of health. It also reduces healing so the enemy healer can't save him (most of the time)

Optional

Useful if you want to kill someone with your ult faraway but I don't recommend this.

Passive:

Hitting a target with any of Ezreal's abilities increases his attack speed by 10% for 6 seconds (Max Stacks: 5).

Explanation

Not that useful on AP Ezreal but if you're pushing you want to use this as much as possible.

Q:

Ezreal fires a bolt of energy in a line that will deal physical damage and apply on-hit effects to the first enemy it hits. If it strikes an enemy unit, all of Ezreal's cooldowns will be reduced by 1 second.

Mana Cost -
30/35/40/45/50

Explanation

You want to use this alot whenever Trueshot Barrage is down because it reduces the cooldown of all your skills. Also when you get your Lich Bane it will proc with your Mystic Shot. When you're pushing, use this skill to gain more attack speed.

W:

Ezreal fires a wave of energy in a line. Any enemy champions it passes through are dealt magic damage, while any allied champions it travels through have their attack speed increased for 5 seconds.

Mana Cost -
60/70/80/90/100

Explanation

Alright, this move is your main damage output other than your ult when its off cool down. If you're doing good in lane and winnning against your trashy opponent you're W could do a quarter of their health. If you land enough of these skills shots in lane you could make your opponent go uninstall League of Legends.

E:

Ezreal instantly teleports to a nearby target location and fires a homing arrow at the nearest enemy unit, dealing magic damage to it.

Mana cost -
90 Mana

Explanation

Aracane shift will add a lot of damage to your burst, although sometimes it will get you killed. For example you might like to play an agressive lane and your opponents knows that. They can just get their jungler to wait for you to go all in then gank you. You want to make sure when you use this you don't hit a minion. You can do this so by walking out of lane and hopefully they'll follow and you can combo them.

R:

Ezreal charges for 1 second to fire a powerful broad energy missile that will travel in a line by the whole map and will deal magic damage to each enemy unit they pass through. It will deal 10% less damage for each subsequent target hit, down to a minimum of 30% damage dealt.

Mana Cost -
100 mana

Explanation

Trueshot Barrage by itself could win your team a fight if you use it properly. Sometimes you'll feel the need to Arcane Shift or Flash to position yourself so your Trueshot Barrage will hit multiple enemies. If you have blue buff your ult will have extremely low cool down and you also have your Mystic Shot cool down. This move alone can do half health to their ADC and they'll complain about how much ointment it takes to temporarily get rid of their butthurt. But of course if you check their match history, the next game they'll play, it'll be AP Ezreal.

With the recent patch, Riot made is so that Doran's Ring is now only 400 gold. Depending on who you're versing, I'd recommend you buy this item. If you're versing someone who counters you, I'd probably take Flash 3 pots but if you're versing someone you counter, start with Doran's 2 pots. Also if you go back to base early game and don't have any money for your items, you can get another Doran's Ring. I recommend you to not get anymore than 2 doran's.




I like to pick Sorcerer's Shoes over Ionian Boots of Lucidity because your jungler should always give you blue buff of you're allowed to call them scrub, or unless you don't need blue buff beacuse your lane is just farming.


This item is your main damage item next to Lich Bane cus dat shiz r@pes Ashe (@ss) See what I did there? Anyway, Rabadon's Deathcap gives you huge amounts of AP. If you fall behind in farm/kills you'll be pretty much useless late game. So farm as much as you can.


You MUST have this item always or I'll have to report you for offensive language. This works well with all your moves and can make a big difference in fights.



Pretty good item to burst down tanky champions and it's even better on squishy champs like ADC's.
If you didn't know it's active makes you do more % damage to them for a few seconds. You want to Arcane Shift then Deathfire Grasp your enemy then use all your skills to burst them down.

You would always want to get atleast one of these. If you're getting burst down by their APC you should get Abyssal Mask. if you're not having any problems then get Void Staff. Both are equally good, it's just depending on the situation.


Decent item if you want more health but I believe Ryalai's is not a viable item on Ezreal because he mainly focuses on damage output and you already Arcane Shift to get away or chase somebody.

Someone recommended these two items to me for the cooldown reduction. Personally I'm fine with my build, but if you're not getting blue off your scrubby jungler then get one of these so you have mana regen and CDR. And also, if you're gonna get one of this item, replace Deathfire Grasp with Athene's.


Great AP Item. Has huge amounts of AP with the additional armor. Use it in teamfights if you're getting pinned down, It could save your life if your team mates come to the rescue or you need those 2 seconds so your Arcane Shift is back up.


A while ago some guy commented on my build saying Rod of Ages isn't that good of an item for Ezreal. After thinking about it for abit, I'd have to say I agree with him. Ap Ezreal is a high burst champion so I'd also recommend you to not get this item either.


Welcome to Season 3. If you're too squishy just get this item. Really good item if you want to be tanky, I usually get it now if I'm being focused.

At level 1 take Mystic Shot and farm as much as possible. If you in a situation where 2 minions are both on low health, basic attack one and Mystic Shot the other. Do not harass until you reach level 3 and your Essence Flux is level 2 because when Essence Flux is at level 1 it'll just be a mana burn and doesn't do much damage. During laning phase poke at your enemy with your Essence Flux or Mystic Shot. When you clear the wave and your enemy is moving back you should Arcane Shift > Essence Flux > Mystic Shot.
Sometimes if your opponent is on about half health you can go on the side into the bush and use Trueshot Barrage > Arcane Shift > Essence Flux > Mystic Shot. Only engage on your opponent if their minion wave is cleared or they're low because otherwise you'll most likely lose.

Note : If your opponent in mid lane recalls, use Mystic Shot and basic attacks to push your wave up to the enemy turret but also remember to farm. After you've done this you should recall also becaudse they'll miss out on xp and you'll probably get back to mid lane and not miss out on anything.

Ezreal has trouble farming in lane. He also has a lot pushing the lane because he has no attack damage, so you'll be stuck in mid lane and not be able to roam and help your other team mates. In mid lane, if you are against a champion is can push really well, harass them as much as possible.
You should always atleast have one ward for any side of your lane. A trick you can do is put your ward on any said of the river and stay near the side so if someone comes to gank you'll know and just move back and if its on the other side you can just run away on the side of your ward.

Ezreal is exceptionally good in dragon fights. If your team has dragon warded you can try to steal dragon with Trueshot Barrage or aim it at the enemy champions. If you do this you might kill a few of them and even steal dragon!

Because of the recent nerf on Ezreal his Trueshot Barrage damage lowers quickly than the old 8% out of 30%, it is now 10% out of 30% for every target hit. Although Ezreal is still great late game because of his high AP ratios. There is not really a specific combo you should use with Ezreal but make sure to use Arcane Shift properly or it can get you killed.
If you feel that their team can instantly kill you, you should keep Arcane Shift for escaping only.

In teamfights, depending on the situation, most of the time you should play passively. Use Mystic Shot and Essence Flux then back off until your moves are off cooldown, otherwise you can go in full rambo and go WOMBO COMBOOOOO.

If you feel like your teams winning the fight you can Arcane Shift in for a little bit more burst damage or to gap close someone whose running away.

The most important thing in teamfights is how to use Arcane Shift. If I got a penny everytime I said that, I'd be very poor. I can't stress this enough. Remember this only comes down to experience whether you use Arcane Shift for defensive or offensive purposes.

In team fights you should stay at the back and position yourself like an ADC. Poke away at the enemy with Mystic Shot and Essence Flux. When you find the perfect moment, position yourself and use Trueshot Barrage. Try to atleast hit 2 or 3 enemies, or atleast hit the ADC as this will do atleast half their health if they don't have any tank items.

If you are being jumped on in every team battle buy Quicksilver Sash or Zhonya's Hourglass and keep Arcane Shift to get away.
