I'm tired of entering a game and having one of my teammates arguing with our Yi over whether or not AP or AD is better. AP Yi has amazing burst potential and an amazing early game, but severely lacks in damage if your Q doesn't scare them away. AD Yi is so incredibly OP late game and can easily take out an entire team if fed, but his early game lacks in considerable damage and if not fed, cant really do much at all. It was about this time that I thought to myself, "Why not combine them?" This my fellow leaguers is why compromising isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Pros:
Starts Early Game just as quickly as a normal AP Yi
Mid to Late Game is also as good as an AD Yi
Overall fun to play with and its Meta breaking powers throw the enemy off guard.

Cons:
Early Game might have trouble with damage but most of the time does not.
Late Game suffers from not having attack speed but can make up for it in Burst damage.

Early game, AP Yi is dominate. So lets keep him where he belongs. You start with a Sheen and Hextech Gunblade/ Lich Bane which also allows for a bit of attack damage to finish off Q's. This part of the game is hopefully where you get at least 2 kills and a bunch of CS because your enemy is waaaaaay to scared to mess with AP Yi.

This is truly where Hybrid Yi takes flight. Just when the enemy team is comfortable with the fact that after awhile, AP Yi will stop being as powerful, BAM! AD Yi comes and says "HEY GUYS, TASTE MY E!" Bloodthirster and Hextech Gunblade will keep you alive with the lifesteal and spell vamp and provide massive burst potential and that very essential follow up damage.

This is where true Hybrid Yi's become legends. This part of the game is where the perfect balance of burst and damage meet. This is the Shangri La of Yi builds. You can Q into an enemy team, E and attack, and sit back and watch the carnage.
